    I'm right there with ya.
2D on opening night (assuming I can get tickets tomorrow) and then at some later point I'll see it in IMAX.

Like Rey is pushing against the dark side. Perhaps she just doesn't need to. When we say may the force be with you, we're saying just that. It's not may the light side be with you or may the dark side be with you, it's just, may the FORCE be with you.

Wouldn't be shocked if we do get another poster post-movie release with Luke and Snoke. Same with what they're doing with the toys.

I respect your opinion, But I doubt it. But,,,,,,that's just me. Wrong I could be. But wow man. I really don't want one. Not after what we got today. blast, this poster kicks ass. I mean really? Just look at Finn. The way he's holding the saber. He has experience IMO. And Rey will be tempted seriously. Maybe forced or backed into a no win situation to set things up for 8.

I'm wondering about the same thing. Could it be foreshadowing something? Notice how the light sabers form an "x" if you were to draw Finns's upward more. Better yet, what if Ren/ Rey's and Finns images switched places? They would be staring each other down, crossing sabers/ weapons in "x" formation.
There's also something about Rey's position about being caught in the middle, between dark and the light. Maybe Rey is a skeptic.. Undecided even. Could she represent something else entirely different about the force? A balance between the dark and the light? Does this conjure up any thoughts?

so since the poster came out I've been noticing something on facebook and twitter and the like.

A rather large chunk of the average joe's out there are convinced that Luke is Kylo Ren...it's like they have no idea Adam Driver is playing him.

I know the marketing has been secretive up till now...but it hasn't been THAT secretive.

    anyone else observed this phenomena?

Tell them to buy the talking Kylo Ren figure. Or at least look and listen to videos of it doing its thing.

Oh i TOTALLY agree. I think it is amazing, but I'm just curious how much JJ holds stuff for release AFTER.

The whole thing is beautiful. The symbolism of Rey and Kylo is amazing. Hope it means something.

I think people are just lost for words as to why the face of the OT is not on the poster. It's kind of bizarre. We all know Luke Skywalker is in the movie, so why the hell is he not on the poster? Is his look really that secretive? We see Han and Leia; why are their images being shown and not Luke's? There is only one answer, he's not really in the film say for a scene or two. This is not something I want, but I can live with it.

The movie is about the search for Luke. This poster was brilliant because it got people to ask, "Where is Luke?" It's not bizarre, it draws people directly into the plot.

I admit, though, that it's a big leap to assume Kylo was Luke based on this poster.

The only pic we have seen of Luke could very well be a hologram shot. He may be seriously altered or have an appearance that will set the viewers aback with a heavy blow. It could be the shocker of TFA.

Maybe Luke is not in the poster because his aperances it is in some holocrom or holographic message. But what about that scene in trailer 2 with artoo? (Flashback)?

It works as a marketing thing I guess, but they could have put him in the poster. A well hidden easter egg of a cloaked Luke Skywalker would have been pretty neat.

You beat me to it, I was just gonna say this.

Not everyone who is in the movie is going to be on the poster, especially if they're supposed to be a mysterious hermit in hiding. Luke Skywalker is the face of the OT, not the ST.

Snoke isn't on the poster, either, and he's probably just as important (if not more important) to the plot than Luke.

He sais " i have it" right when that shot is on screen. That doesn't mean it's him in the scene.

Yep. Time ( as hard as it is and I feel you but with an open mind) to move this thing forward. It's a major unspoken dilemma with a lot of old school fans esp..

That could be the whole point of that shot. I mean c'mon, Of course everyone is gonna think it's Luke. Maybe that perception is accurate, but maybe not.

Yep, but a guy very close to artoo with a robotic hand, I think the chances of be another character are remotes.

Well, I kinda had this idea in my head that Rey, like Vader, could possible tip the "balance" of the Force either light or dark. I think the determining factor could be Rey's relationships with Kylo(Dark side) and Finn(Light side). If Rey is to be trained by Luke, there is a possibility that Luke could fail. Luke's training in the Force was I think, kind of a "rush job". He was way older than the traditional Padawans, his training was limited to a few days in a swamp, and he left before the training was complete. Now he did succeed in the final test with Vader, however I think he missed a lot of "formal training" that was probably key to the development of a full grown Jedi. Don't get me wrong, I think Luke learned a lot about the Force in the years after ROTJ, but learning and training are two different things. Look at it this way: Obi-wan trained Anakin=Failed. Anakin trained Asoka=Failed( although you could debate that). Yoda trained Dooku=Failed. Being a great Jedi doesn't ensure that they are great teachers. Perhaps Luke did have a Jedi academy, and they all walked out on him. Depressing to think about, but it's a possibility. I think that Rey and Kylo were in training to be Jedi and "something" happened that caused them to leave. If they are siblings, then it would be natural for her to side with her brother over a stranger and I think that's where her inner conflict will come in. She'll have to choose between Kylo and the dark side or Finn and the light. Her choice will determine the fate of the galaxy....just a thought.
