With the recent name release of the LEGO set 'The Pirate Transport', I've been thinking about what happens when they leave Jakku....

What if the Falcon doesn't dock with the ship? What if it's captured by the ship?

The Falcon could be on Jakku because it was STOLEN and Han and Chewie can be on the ship cause they are detained there. Just a thought.

I got the impression this "pirate ship" was the alleged giant freighter Han and Chewie are on when we meet them.

The line "we're home" seems to indicate they have been separated from the falcon for awhile. So I doubt the falcon was recently stolen or captured from Han.

I tend to think that Han lost the Falcon and it's been impounded by the Kanjiklub Gang on Jakku while they try to salvage it. The freighter probably belongs to them as well, it seems like they may have the influence on Jakku that the Hutts have on Tatooine.

We do have a general outline of the plot that describes that they leave Jakku, get to a freighter, meet with Han and Chewie and leave. There are some significant pieces missing though.

    1) why isn't the Falcon with Han?
    2) when leaving Jakku, why don't they leave to another planet? Why stop at a frieghter?
    3) why are Han and Chewie on the frieghter? And - how did they get there?
    4) there is an action scene on the frieghter - what happens there to cause it?

Knowing it's not a 'frieghter' but 'The Pirate Transport' helps us speculate on answering those questions, and gives us some good answers that make sense.

    1) the Falcon isn't with Han because it's been stolen and its trying to be sold/salvaged on Jakku.
    2) when leaving Jakku, they try to leave but are caught by the Pirates. Perhaps a bounty is put on their head by the First Order. It's not a simple 'lets dock with that frieghter over there'.
    3) while Han could be leading the Pirates, I don't think it's very likely - remember an action scene is about to happen on the frieghter. This means a possible conflict/escape. Why would Han go into a conflict with his own people? Also remember that for years Han has had a bounty on his head - I don't think that would go away after Jedi, but would INCREASE after playing a role in killing Jabba. It seems more likely that Han and Chewie are on the freighter against their will. Plus, there is no indication about how they got on the ship in the first place - they would need a ship to get on the ship.
    4) action scenes happen to resolve a conflict. What better conflict than an escape?

There's a Han Solo TFA prologue which appears to be in the upcoming Smuggler's Run (September 4) Han Solo and Chewbacca book.

    • "People talk about the Falcon to Han Solo just before Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
    • "Thugs want the Falcon. Han Solo disagrees and refuses, but it isn’t clear exactly what happens to the ship and if Han has to give it up in the days before The Force Awakens."
    • "It appears if Han and Chewie do not have the Falcon in The Force Awakens, they have only just lost the ship shortly before the film begins."
    • "Ducain and the Irving Boys want Han Solo dead."

The Falcon is swallowed by a large ship, (I assume that's the pirate ship).

I believe there are also pirates following Rey after she escapes (she has something they want or perhaps own, maybe even the Falcon itself).'

The two gangs collide and there is mass chaos involving ejected livestock, (which help aid the hero's escape).

One gang dresses in leather and are rough shaven and have long hair, the other gang dresses in sharp lines and have "target" type helmets.

My general belief of how that's going to go down only.

I am unclear if the Mods are chasing Rey and the Rockers have captured Han or vice-versa. My thinking is the rockers are chasing Rey for stealing the Falcon, while the Mods already had Han & Chewie captured because of the bounty on both.

The collision isn't totally consequential, Han was probably on his way to get Rey already, lost the Falcon and was perhaps sold to the Mods for the bounty.
