The Skellig Michael shoot.. could it be for an after-credits scene to hype up episode 8?

No fear it will just be 10 minutes of star wars theme music & credits, but I would like this background of what we saw in the movie.

So whatever is happening... people could be heading over to Skellig Michael for filming right now. Its 8:30 AM, Monday the 14th of September in Kerry, Ireland right now.

I can't find any evidence that they have filmed anything else of episode 8 yet (as of October 23). So why film on the island in September? To me it is almost like it was either a re-shoot or something from Episode 7, or possibly a post credits addition.

It has to do with Skellig Michael's weather patterns. This is a great time of the year to shoot. But they are limited in when they can shoot because it is a natural habitat and many endangered migratory birds go to the island. They will likely finish the shoot next year around the same time when the weather conditions are similar.

As far as an after credits scene not "being Star Wars", who gives a crap? After credit scenes are awesome and they always spark my interest. I could care less if it is not in the spirit of the old movies. The old movies are OLD. They are some of the greatest films of all time. However, out with the old and in with the new. We can't base how we should make a film in 2015 by the making of a film in 1978. If there is a REASON to have an after credits scene and it works and makes the movie longer and better, then I'm all for it.

Great beard of Neptune....why won't this idea just die? It's so awful....would they REALLY be so out of touch to actually put a post credits scene with the movie?

    What's wrong with the people?

@Fartkraum, I think this is a good thread. You know this is all speculation at this point so it is possible that there could be a post credit sequence. Personally I think that it would be an ok idea....I don't think it would hurt the norm for Star Wars.

Shooting permissions and stuff... also we know that it was Rian Johnson directing the shoot, which rules out TFA re-shoots, but not a post credits scene. In fact, a lot of post credits scenes are filmed by the director who is making the film being teased.
