I'm feeling the need to compile our conversation into a structured, interview-style thing so it's easier to read. Just Q/A, Q/A, etc.

So now he's saying Darth Plagueis is the only Sith mentioned in the movie? I'm getting really confused.

It's rather interesting that he says he's involved with digital art. As I suggested before, his peculiar manner of writing would be consistent with dyslexia, and there's actually a scientifically documented relationship between dyslexia and enhanced spatial abilities: http://www.mdx.ac.uk/news/2010/11/research-reveals-dyslexic-men-make-great-artists. As a matter of fact, Drew Struzan, everybody's favorite Star Wars poster artist, supposedly has pretty severe dyslexia and has been open about discussing his struggles with the condition publicly. It's also been speculated that Norman Rockwell, Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, and Leonardo da Vinci all had dyslexia. Anyhow, something to think about...

He said that he started going on a bantha poodoo-spreading campaign to discredit himself (don't quite remember why-I'll have to dig that out) in terms of the Plagueis-Bane-Malgus thing. He says that there's Snoke (which is a pseudonym, but we don't find out his real identity) an ancient Sith Emperor that is awakened (that is supposedly being kept secret) and that Plagueis is mentioned.

 

Well, I'm still as skeptical about him as anybody else around here is, but I just like to explore all the possible angles of a situation. You never know when you might stumble upon something.

From what I understand, he said he decided to discredit himself because he felt too much information was coming out too fast and got a little uncomfortable. Thanks for the clarifications regarding his claims about the true identity of Snoke.

So. He claims to be based in Australia (I suspected as much due to the times he started/stopped sending messages corresponding with being the Eastern States...or a US nocturne ) and says he has worked on shows like 'Lost'.

Also, the Revan rumours were a part of a supposed misinformation campaign.

 

This guy is completely BS. Well, enjoy.

I would like to believe this guy but why does he say the whole office knows he's leaking this information? Why would an entire office allow this? And please clarify something for me...how much does a digital arts crew member know of a film? Seems like he has a bit of details that someone more involved with the film would know, but I'm not sure of the role of digital artists.

 

I'll go back through the notes to try to glean something, but the next time he responds to me I'll try to clarify some things. I care more now about him proving himself than what he has about the movie.

Absolutely. He was perfectly happy to answer my questions, and he seems to have thought through his backstory.

I thought about asking him if he knew about the Cantina. Then I remembered saying that I was aaking him the questions for my personal curiosity and not because I wanted to blast it over the internet...

I agree on this. Seems like he knows too much for his position. But also the "I'm not actually breaking any rules because I'm only sharing things that are common knowledge in the industry" is the biggest red flag to me. I work in VFX, and I can tell you that NDAs are not that loose. When you sign one of those bad boys you're agreeing not to share *anything* with *anyone* that has not already been stated officially and publicly. I want him to justify that better but I'm not sure what to ask him to get the answer I'm looking for.

 

My last messages to him: "I had a feeling you might be based in Australia. So can you tell me what company you're with? What sort of art did you do for the film? Will your name be featured in the film's credits? Also, how is it that your whole office knows and is allowing you to do it? You've said before that the info you've shared isn't really a big secret among the people you work with and it isn't restricted by an NDA, but would you leaking publicly-unknown details not at least be...frowned upon?"

It's currently just gone midnight where I am and he's probably (if he's in the Eastern States like I think he is) a good 3 hours ahead of me. I should get a response in 5 hours or so.
