Some little bits everyone seems to be forgetting:

    - Lando saves the day a couple of times
    - Rose was in the Movie
    - Hux Story Arc - Evil General - Comic Relief - Patetic Mole
    - Rey get a new lightsaber out of nothing in the end of the movie

And about the master plan of the sith:

    - Palpatine wanted Rey to killl him in Exogol throne rom in order to "possess" her after she became the Sith Empress when he could just easily absorb force energy from others to heal himself to former glory??????????????? (Palpatine might be Evil but was not very smart)

    - Why create a super death star, Starkiller Base, if they already had hundreds of imperial cruisers with death star cannons????????

    Don't Forget

    - First 5 Minutes were amazing (Kylo Quest to Palpatine)

REMEMBER - We Will Always Have The Classic Star Wars!

Honestly I have never understood this obsession. What would Force Ghost Anakin purpose actually be? I just dont get it. I have no issue with him being in it, but there has to be a reason why.

Actually, the worst mistake is the X-wing somehow having re-grown its severed wing after so many years of Luke using the thing as a front door on his hut.

Well since Kylo was so obsessed with Vader and talking to him through the helmet (now revealed to be The Senate) it would've been nice to see real Anakin talking to his grandson. We have one prominent grandchild - Rey and another grandchild is Ben. It rhymes! I can imagine the following scene:

Kylo is still torn whether to be good or evil, tries to talk to Vader to show him how awesome it is to be evil and then Anakin shows up and Kylo loses his composure and tries to fight Anakin force ghost with a lightsaber and obviously failing cause he's translucent only to be slapped by Anakin since they can now interact with the physical world. Wouldn't that be awesome? I will send in my CV to become a Hollywood writer.

I found the one actual retcon in this movie: Luke's hut door being made from an X-Wing part.

Okay, so. Full disclosure: First time I saw The Last Jedi, I walked out of the theater wondering what the hell it was that I'd just seen, and wasn't sure I'd even liked it. On a second viewing I finally began to catch the back-beat of the whole thing and over time I've come to really love that film, despite still having to pretty much tune out the whole Canto Bight bit.

Last night I walked out of the theater after Rise of Skywalker, once again wondering what the hell it was that I'd just seen, and not sure that I'd even liked it.

I'm on PTO from work today and will go see the film again, probably this afternoon. We'll see if it clicks for me a little more this time.

My biggest problem, I think, was that they crammed so much into it in such a short amount of screentime that it felt like nothing had a chance to breathe, particularly the more personal moments. The one moment that I did feel took just enough time to begin sink a few emotional roots was the one between Han and Ben. Beyond that, though, it was all so frenetic and marked by a Marvel-esque Everything Plus The Kitchen Sink MoreMoreMORE!!! short-attention-span-theatre vibe that I don't think I'll really begin to get a sense of what I think of it until I've seen it at least once more.

I suspect I'll end up needing to ignore a few things about it, but will ultimately come to dig it as was the case with The Last Jedi.

It would have been great to have Luke say "Hold on a minute." then the door comes flying and gets re-attached to the X-Wing. First I thought that Rey should have lifted it, then it kicked in. Luke raised it to show how things changed since ESB.

An insignificant retcon like this is neither a mistake or worthy of an explanation.

Actually, that's not really a retcon so much as it is just a plain old continuity error. There's no new interpretation of events involved here (which would indeed make it a retcon.) It's just a detail established in the last movie that they just plain ignored and ended up inadvertantly contradicting in this one.

If I remember correctly from last night, Ray was burning her 'stolen' tie fighter on craggy island with wood.

There are no trees on that island. We know that from TFA. Where did she get that wood from ?

Rian made the same mistake in TLJ. Luke going fishing (classic star wars) with a long wooden pole.

THERE ARE NO TREES ON THAT ISLAND !!!....

Where do they get their wood from ?

So remember when Luke used love and compassion to save the day and defeat the darkside?
    Good times.

I would argue most people have little or no opinion about the EU and those that have one are substantially more split than you would indicate.

Many like bits and pieces of legends but as a whole? That is a story for another time.

Also...Darth Maul survived and he was small beans.

The only awkward plot point for me was...and this actually could be fun in the long run......Palpy got some action! #SheevCeption

Nobody seemed to have a problem with Palpatine having taken concubines and fathered a child when that idea was part of the old Tiered Canon, so to see objections now that the concept has been resurrected under the new Canon system is more than a little bit silly.
