    That might be so, but the titles are inspired by pulp/serial sci-fi. As such, they shouldn't be overly poetic.

    Agreed, though I think it can certainly be argued that the awakening in TFA is directly linked to/about Rey.

    If we get another trilogy after this, I think the overarching symbolism of the saga chronology can still be in place. Based on II and V, I personally think that some martial action being included in the title is a foregone conclusion many fans have arrived at; likewise, this is a great opportunity for them to change things up.

    STAR WARS VIII - INVASION OF THE ORDER

    This title could refer to the First Order and/or to the Knights of Ren. 'Invasion' is also a strong doing word and would fit the formula of EPII and EPV.

    While I agree with the general idea, worth mentioning that "The Force Awakens" might still refer a specific character, if you interpret it as the Force awakening in Rey. Snoke's chat with Ren ("there has been an awakening") coupled with the fact that the novelization implies that Rey is indeed special can be used to further strengthen this interpretation.

    Also, remember that after all TFA played really safe in terms of "rhyming" with ANH. While we all expect EP8 to stray more from the established path I would not be surprised if the movie titles do indeed follow the same pattern of the OT and PT.

    Prior to the EP7 the word "force" was never used in a title, yet it's essential to the story line. So I think Disney/LFL are sort of breaking away from tradition in a sense. Another word essential to the story line is "Skywalker". So I'm going out on a limb and saying the EP8 title is simply "The Destiny of Skywalker". Mysterious enough to not necessarily refer to Luke. Could be vague enough to stir speculation about Rey, Ben, or the Skywalker bloodline in general.

    Perhaps a duality will be behind the titles of the ST? A mix of the PT and OT. So for example:

    The Phantom Menace - The growing Dark Side + Darth Sidious himself
    A New Hope - The growing Light Side + Luke Skywalker
    The Force Awakens - The awakening of both the Light and Dark Side + Rey/Kylo

    Attack of the Clones - The army of the Republic attacking
    The Empire Strikes Back - The army of the Empire attacking
    VIII Examples - The March to War...

    Revenge of the Sith - The Sith take power and destroy the Jedi (referring to Palpatine and Vader)
    Return of the Jedi - The Jedi return and destroy the Sith (referring to Luke and Anakin defeating Vader and Sidious)
    IX Examples - The Balance of Power...


    Bad examples but you get my meaning...

    But Rey isn't "The Force", and whatever it was that "Awakened" wasn't her (which is to say that she wasn't what Snoke was referring to, anyway). So it's not a character title so much as what it is in reflection of what happens to characters in the movie (IE: the Force awakens within her and Kylo Ren through their actions).

    If you're referring to "DA TAEL UV DA BRUVA N DA SISTA", then no. That was a fake story from a fake leak. Unless you actually believe the asinine theory that Rey is simultaneously the girl in that story and Anakin reincarnated (HAHAHA WHAT).

    It's worth noting that when Snoke mentions "an awakening", he mentions it as being separate from the shenanigans tied to the cast. And given that Leia Organa feels something in the Force in one of the tie-in novels shortly before the events of Poe Dameron's mission to find Lor San Tekka, we can presume that Rey leaving Jakku isn't tied to it - that's *after* the awakening.
