I'm sorry, at thought you were attempting to have a serious debate. Anyone citing Rotten Tomatoes for anything other than a critic review aggregation site isn't someone who wants to discuss this logically or scientifically.

Very good example though of people who don't want to discuss this rationally. Lots of name calling. Citing useless statistics. Ignoring scientific polls.

None of that is going to change the fact that most people love the movie.

Oh please. When you're referring to "anyone" you're basically calling out every professional journalist out there talking about it. Nothing unusual has been reported about the Rotten Tomatoes score. It's 100% legit.

The journalists are starting to call out people like you for conspiracy theorists. Suddenly, the tides have changed and you're unable to accept that.

That's a C grade. That must be a pesky fact for you.

The Cinemascore poll is deeply flawed because it only tracks instant reaction, which is often likely more positive until critical thought sets in and can reflect on what was seen. For example, many of TLJ's plot holes aren't clear on a first viewing, but then afterward one begins to perceive them more clearly.

Audience scores matter not because they tell people what to think, but because they tell us how many people think a film was good. This is important for film companies and anyone else interested in what direction a franchise should take. Profit is obviously an important short term measure, but if the narrative you're crafting isn't viable in the long term, then it's reasonable to argue that the filmmakers should shift gears.

Yep. As I have said before, a 55% majority of the 283,000+ voters gave it an 8/10.

A vastly different result than RT.

It’s a bloody spectacular film with many moments that could be in the top ten scenes of all SW films. Once the trolls get bored and those fans hurt by their head canon being challenged accept what the story is, we’ll enter a period of celebration for what RJ gave us.

TLJ ain't getting no 3.6 multiplier.

    TFA had a 3.78 multiplier.
    RO had a 3.43 multiplier.

TLJ has a 2.69 multiplier if it has $591 million as Deadline currently projects by the end of Sunday.

If it earns every cent RO did until the end of RO's run, it winds up at 625 million (and it's been running behind RO for the past week by 12.51% according to Deadline's projection,.)

Getting a huge multiplier is easier when releasing in December too.

Not to mention that no other film studio has dared to release any tent-pole franchise film next to Star Wars since Disney bought Lucasfilm. After TLJ, however, I can see that changing. Jumanji wasn't a tent-pole franchise before December, but now it is all of a sudden.

I think we can expect other film studios to be more competitive in December in the future.

    Multiplier this, percentage that...

It’s going to make $1.3 billion. It has received rave reviews. The acting has been praised. A huge majority of fans like/love the film.

The folks getting excited about debatable statistics are going to be left feeling very empty...if they aren’t already.

I'm just happy that TLJ is lower than RotS on IMDB. In my opinion it should be lower still (though it might still drop a few more points) but at least its lower than RotS, which in my opinion has too low of a score on IMDB.

Why shouldn't it? A movie that i feel was utter crap but got praised critically has a lower score that the movie that gets crapped on way too much critically but is actually really good.

In general I think IMDB's Star Wars scores are all off (with the exception of ESB, ANH and R1).

RotS is rated higher by the critics than the audience on Rotten Tomatoes though.

I don't care about Rotten Tomato. But when I said "Critically" I didn't just mean professional critics but anyone reviewing the movie, which for the most part are negative.

For RotS? I'm not sure where do you get your reviews from... Ever since the release it's unanimously praised to the point it's rather overrated...

I only ever see people still trash it. If what you are saying is true than that makes me happy because as I said before I think it is actually really great.

Where do you see that? In my experience it's absolutely true. Even on the crappiest parts of the internet it's unanimously praised... Many even say it's better than the originals. As far as I see the ST so far is much more trashed than even the PT (on the internet). On Youtube for instance sometimes I have to scroll like minutes until I find anything constructive among the countless "feminism has ruined Star Wars"...

In general wherever I would comment that I liked RotS quite a bit I usually get those people who attack. If the perception has changed over the years to a better one than that truly makes me happy. Also I'm not referring to trolls, so like you say the Youtube comments I wouldn't count because its quite clear they are trolling.
