Villain(s) in the Kenobi series

i vote for snidely whiplash and/or Obi-Wan against himself.

don't really have a strong desire to see any of the others; would prefer a fresh take: gangsters, colonists picking on sand people, bounty hunters, order 66 leftovers, etc. there are lots of new possibilities! : D

 

Mace Windu attempting to "delete" the blood line of the "Chosen One" could be very interesting. Obi-Wan would then also have to protect Leia.

 

New villain. Leave Maul alone. We've seen him die 2 times now, no need for us to see him die for a 3rd time. Do something new, unless he really is Darth Plagueis since he cheated death once already

 

I voted for New Villain and Other, although this could be the same character I expect an Inquisitor (or their... staff?) to make an appearance in the Kenobi show at some point

My thoughts:

1. Maul will make an appearance at some point ( as will live action Ezra) and we'll basically get a live action remake of the scene from Rebels. This, in particular, will come at the end of an arc where Obi Wan confronts his past. Quite probably the end of the season/series itself. So, there isn't specifically a buildup to Maul, but he'll be the payoff to Obi Wan learning to leave his past behind. (We may also get flashbacks to Mandalore/Satine during this time).

2. There may be an Inquisitor enemy. Likewise, there may be some allusions to Snoke. However, Vader will not be in the show at all, unless it's in scene totally unrelated to Kenobi himself.

3. The series will be limited and contain fewer episodes than most (my money's on a single 6-8 episode season, apologies if released information already contradicts this). It will follow Kenobi's own confrontation of his past and culminate with him "rising above" it via Maul (as mentioned in point 1) but will also feature a single overarching story against another villain. This could be a bounty hunter, or a team of bounty hunters, coming after known Jedi. I think Inquisitors are far less likely, because if they knew of Obi Wan's location then they'd likely tell Vader (though keeping that from him for glory could be an interesting twist).

4. Finally, I think this series will span a long period of time, from the end of ROTS to Maul's defeat, and perhaps even as far as Obi Wan heading out to save Luke in the Dune Sea. However, if I had to guess, the bulk of the season would be somewhere in the middle, around roughly the same time that Solo takes place. In fact, several characters from that movie could potentially show up (and given Obi Wan's relative proximity to Jabba, this show could even continue the Jabba/Crimson Dawn storyline started in that movie, and potentially even bring Alden and Glover's Han/Lando back, not to mention Qi'ra.

 

Obi-Wans mind is a given.In the end he gains self-mastery.
An „outer“ enemy should be a force user , a Knight of Ren or a Sith-like figure from the unknown regions.
They should use conflicts vs criminals from Tatooine too but the main focus should be Obi-Wans mind and the above mentioned figure ,a Musashi like dark sider from the UR who wanders around the outer rim searching for a duel.Would give a nice samurai vibe to Kenobis story oh yeah.

 

I could see Vader happening.. Maybe Kenobi learns of a jedi who survived order 66, and decides to go find him/her.. On this small journey he ends up fighting Vader..
Or maybe, if you think about it, don't Kenobi and Yoda think that Anakin died at the end of ROTS? Then maybe Kenobi learns that Vader is somehow Anakin, and decides to give it one last try, to see the good in him, to turn him back..

Maybe some would say it is a retcon of ANH, but I don't believe it is.
Still I don't know if it would be true best decision..

Maul can't happen because of Rebels and that's fine by me.. Would it have been epic.. To see them fight again live action.. Sure! But Rebels is Canon.. So leave it be..

Boba Fett, please don't.. Other bounty hunter.. I would like that..

Mace Windu this never even crossed my mind before this poll.. But I have to say the possibilities are intriguing to me!

Kenobis own mind, there is a lot they can do with this idea so maybe..

I much prefer a new villain, be it a new bounty hunter, some inquisitor or whatever might fit the story.. That's what I expect to see..

I agree.Mad Mace Windu trying to erase the Skywalker lineage would be awesome too.

 

Dengar, played by Simon Pegg, would also be cool.

 

tusken raiders ??

there was a old legends comic I read as a kid, where Windu is on tatooine and has to fight an old friend whos a tusken raider and was a jedi at some point.


Came out before Episode 1, Windu still had a blue lightsaber back then.

 

Yeah, sounds familiar...

 

I hope the series show the conflict between the moist farmers and the Tusken Raiders from a different angle (somewhat like the Legends novel did) instead of simply portraying the farmers as "good" and the Tusken Raiders as "evil". So I wouldn't like them to be the villain in the story. Not sure I'd want any real main villain anyway, to be fair. Occasional bounty hunters and mercenaries, Jabba's thugs, some scheming farmers, a constant threat of being tracked down/discovered by the Empire is all I need - and of course Obi-wan's internal struggle with himself and his transformation as the main focus of the show.

 

Filming the live-action version of the final Maul vs. Kenobi would take (I'm assuming) minimal crew. Which means fewer leaks. I hope that's what he's preparing for.


Him in other live-action is also acceptable.

 

I personally don’t expect any main villain/antagonist, but I’d expect Jabba, the Empire, the Tusken Raiders, and/or some general scum and villainy will cause some trouble for our hero to stop. I think Maul is more likely to show up than Vader because a) He just showed up recently in Solo with crime syndicate, which could plausibly show up on Tatooine and b) depending on how LFL does it, they could avoid contradicting/retconning Rebels. If Vader and Obi-Wan were to meet, then it would inevitably contradict A New Hope. And honestly, after the surprise of Maul showing up in Solo, him or Vader showing up in this show a lot more plausible for me now.
