    Abrams made some statement awhile back that he wanted the Star Wars galaxy to reflect the people here on Earth. Never mind that this is a galaxy FAR, FAR AWAY. One of my pet peeves with TFA was too many damn humans. Obviously there has to be some humans, but they really dropped the ball. One of the core new characters could've been an alien (I'm talking Rey, Poe or Finn). Or more aliens and droids in the Resistance or First Order. Even the actors cast for new characters in Ep. 8 will be in all likelihood human characters.

    This insistence that Abrams has to go 'retro' with the new trilogy has its drawbacks. Everything feels sparse and bland. Lucas left because of creative differences; he wanted new (read: UNIQUE) planets and spaceships. I have to agree with him on that, at least to a degree. I mean, Lucas was limited with what he could do with the OT back in the 70s and early 80s. That doesn't mean Lucasfilm today should limit itself to what it should and could do. The door is wide open.

    I'm not a fan of Star Trek by any means, but the most recent trailer for its new movie looks far more dazzling visually than what we've seen thus far in the sequel trilogy.

    But back to the topic of aliens. I'm not just talking more aliens, but a variety that is less bipedal and humanoid. Maybe something more outlandish? I'll be happy with some like these than another boring Twi'lek any day.

    Well it could be hard to have less humans as the first order despises aliens similar to how the nazis hated jewish people .

    I see the point you are trying to make and I can understand your reasoning. I don't think much is going to change unfortunately. We have our core characters and I don't think they will add any main characters of significance that are aliens. Remember that this trilogy is still based on the Skywalker family. I think you will see more interesting and unique aliens in future films. But they won't be the aliens you're looking for...

    "Sabotage" should have been playing the entire time during the SKB sequence...and when Ben kills his dad...pretty much the whole movie.

    Why does the First Order despise aliens? Did Darth Sidious despise aliens? Did Vader or anyone else? Was it ever a part of the Empire's ideology, or was it simply a symbolic visual for us, the audience? What about Darth Maul, the Trade Federation Neimodians, General Grievous, the non-human bounty hunters, etc.?

    Forcing the First Order to stick to humans-only is needlessly limiting.

    I'd like to see an anthology movie that takes a rather humanoid alien like a Mirialan, Chiss or Twi'lek, and makes them one of the main characters. It doesn't change much, it doesn't (and shouldn't) be a major part of the character, but it makes the Star Wars universe feel a bit bigger and less human-centric in a narrative sense.

    We've already got characters like Darth Maul, Aayla Secura, Chewbacca, Yoda, Maz and Admiral Ackbar proving that it can be pulled off.

    Maybe a version like "Schindler's List but with aliens and the first order that takes place between ROTJ and TFA but with a secret defector of the new regime risking his life for them but then the alien pilots we see in the new movie from last year are in it and we get their backtroies.

    So, our main characters are essentially: one conflicted First Order officer; his Mirialan assistant/captive; and the callous mentor of the conflicted officer - Brendol Hux.

    Why are they against aliens? There may not have been any aliens in the First Order, but they didn't give off a pro-human or anti-alien vibe to me. Same with the Empire.
