What are your favorite moments in TLJ?

-Luke schooling Kylo on Crait. Kylo's rage and disbelief with how every there transpires was wonderful.

-Kylo and Rey killing all of the Praetorian Guards.

-Yoda's line about "The girl already possesses everything in those books" and his uncontrollable laughter while the tree burns, knowing full-well that the books are safe.

-Holdo's light-speed kamikaze. (I don't actually like it for Star Wars, because it begs the question as to why light-speed missiles don't exist, but on a strictly sensory level, I was completely blown away.)

 

- Throne room
- Holdo's crash into the ship was epic!
- Luke v Klyo

 

Yes! Holdo kamikaze doesnt get the praise it deserves. She single-handedly took down the supremacy!!

 

Imposible to pick just one great scene. Last night I've watched the movie for the second time and its got better. I've could pick 20 great moments in this movie, same with TFA.

 

Luke with a big fish in his hands. It brought me to tears.

When we left the cinema I bought my son a large fish so that he can pretend to be Luke Skywalker. He walks around the house with it. Trouble is, it is starting to go off.

I hope there will be a lego version. Luke goes fishing. It's right up there with the top moments of Star Wars.

 

I absolutely love this movie and actually find it very difficult to pick my favourite scenes, but here are a few I love especially much. In random order:

- The whole sequence when Rey goes to the cave of mirrors up and until the moment when she leaves the island. Wow!

- The confrontation in the throne room and Kylo and Rey versus the Praetorians. Holy blast! Cinema exploding

- Luke and Rey in the library

- Crazy Luke in his first few scenes, aka 'A day with Luke'. It mirrors Yoda's crazy scene from ESB, but now much more effectively because you expect Luke to be a great Jedi master. Instead he's milking moofs (?) and spearfishing Frisian style.

- Luke communicating with Leia when she is in coma/ Luke and Leia meeting one last time (the resistance fighters looking at Luke as if he really is the god they dreamt about). Luke and Leia's theme plays. :'( very sad. I cried.

-Luke's entry and the finale (in extension). Wow!

- Poe and Holdo's arc - the mutiny

- Finn and Rose in the Casino

- The arrival of the Supremacy and the sequence that follows. Kylo and Leia

- Luke teaching Rey the way of the force/ force meditation, Luke freaking out.

- Holdo ramming the Supremacy - the silence and the audience's reaction is gold!

- Rey and Chewies sudden airsupport on Crait

- Luke's final words and the editing (Rey saving the Rebels). Random audience applauding . I cried

- All our heroes reunited on the Falcon.

- Godspeed rebels! That one tears me up.

- Kylo and Hux scenes. Very clever. We all know Hux is looking to stab his master in the back now. Time for episode IX

- The horse chase sequence - this is Spielbergian

- Fin attacking the battering ram cannon

 

I have a hundred favorite bits, and this will probably seem silly.. but 2 characters took me by surprise.

Rose - love her.. absolutely love her.

Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd). i thought she was superb, and i hope we see even more of her in ep9.

 

It's good and unfortunately... refreshing to see some Rose love. People calling her the new Jar Jar honestly almost breaks my heart. I thought she did a phenomenal job and I don't understand where the hate comes from.

 

Holdo lightspeeding through the FO gots gasps from both audiences that I've seen it with. As did the Renlo fight.

For damn good reason. That 10 minutes of the film is amazing and the silence of the Raddus going into lightspeed is perfect.

 

The throne room scene, Rey in the cave of mirrors up and until the leaves the Island, Luke's arriving on crait until Luke's passing.

 

"FIRST" Luke vs Kylo.

Second. The ramming scene.

 

That Hyperspace jump, man. That was something else. Every plotline just came together to that one moment and RJ (in my opinion) executed it beautifully. Whole final 35 mins were on another level to be honest.

 

So many amazing small moments, like when Finn, Rose and the codebreaker are making their way back:

Poe: "Did you find the master codebreaker?"
Finn: "Well, we found a codebreaker."

Ha!

 

Guys, I can´t start a thread yet, so I´m posting this here:

Kylo and Leia need a proper closing to their arc, killing leia offsreen (ie opening scrawl) doesn´t feel right, and Kennedy said they won´t do CGI Carrie, so:

Can we please consider recasting Carrie Fisher/Leia?

 

The Fathiers scene,all running through the grass plains at night,being followed by the canto bight police,for me this scene has a JP/TLW vibe and i love it!
Also the fact that they are used and abused,and finally are able to go free adds more emotion to me.

 

I have to double check, but I'm pretty sure Leia realizes the bridge is about to be blown out. She takes a deep breath and holds it before the blast hits.

 

I thoroughly loved the thematic elements of this movie.
They subvert so many Star Wars tropes while reveling in others.
It's wonderful

 

Okay... a day after seeing this, I am still rather completely amazed these concepts (Luke vs. FO + Kylo swinging at an untouchable Luke) were realized on screen:

I also thought the Luke and Leia scene was beautiful and bittersweet.

I also loved how BB-8 proved so wonderfully useful in key situations (even though I do wish R2-D2 was able to play a more prominent role).

Poe vs. FO was amazing.

The Throne Room scene was good as well.

 

1. Luke saying no one's ever really gone.
2. Rey and the mirror.
3. Twin suns. (and all the parallels they stand for: Luke/Leia, Light/Darkness, Rey/Kylo, Life/Death)
4. Luke merging with the Force.
5. Yoda saying teachers must pass on all their knowledge and experience, including their failures.

 

I loved that the emperors theme played when Snoke force-tortures Rey.
