    some people are bound to be disappointed one way or the other. You can already imagine the negative criticism. Best to keep an open mind and keep as many options open as possible. But Palpatine's clone/daughter really?........:eek::rolleyes:

    What if he had hoped it was Kylo wielding his old lightsaber on Starkiller Base? What if had created the gully to protect Kylo from a warrior (a callback to the forceback)? If Rey shows up alone but with the lightsaber she used on Starkiller Base, that would tell Luke that Ben/Kylo is still in Snoke's clutches.

    i don't think Luke is expecting/hoping someone else will clean up his mess.

    but i do wonder if he knows where that lightsaber has been and/or if Ben ever had it.

    I believe it happen because they are two FORCES.It was a visual effect to divide the dark side and the light side of the FORCE.We know that the planet is broking apart BUT for me is another hidden message like many others that ARE in the movie...:).

    I think is just a metaphor of Rey's decision to not kill Kylo Ren. In the Novel/Script, she realized that by doing it will be a path to the dark side.
