    As for complaints: some people will complain about Luke, no matter how good the movie is or Johnson's and Hamill's portrayel of Luke. "Mary Sue" will return in an even more sexist rendition used by small entrenched group of radicals. Some people will say the movie "dragged" because its the longest star wars movie. And last but not least, people disapointed with plot turns and reveals that are not what they expected or hoped for...............star wars fans can be very self entitled.

    I expect that it's going to be both about who's Rey's parents are (because I have a sneaky suspicion that it will go unanswered definitively), AND how/if Ben will be redeemed for his treachery.

    Same as it is now, I expect these same two topics to continue to be debated here for two more years.

    But is it really THAT interesting who Rey's parents are? I mean this can be answered in two or three sentences ... whoever they may be, it possibly takes 30 seconds to explain it in a film.

    Many people act like -Yay we’re just a few weeks away from getting all the answers, but I think that’s way optimistic.
    I think TLJ will answer a few questions but since it’s the middle act it will probably leave us with a lot more questions than we had going in. And I also think that the answers we do get will not always seem definitive and therefore be debated for two more years.

    For example if Snoke reveals something about Rey’s past we will not trust him (if it doesn’t fit our own personal head canon, haha), lex Vader telling Luke that he was Luke’s father... "That evil dude must be lying".
    If Luke reveals it... “Is he lying to protect his student like Obi-Wan did?”

    And of course TLJ will leave us with the mother of all frustrating cliffhangers. We will walk out of the theater thinking about those two damn long years of speculation ahead of us.

    Well...Yes. For those that WANT to know who her parents are (or aren't) will determine focus, and dependent on the answer, will generate more questions than it may answer initially.

    For instance; If it is revealed that Luke (for the sake of this example) IS Reys father....Who is her mother? Where is her mother? How did this Happen? When did this happen?, etc. At that point, there is an entire side-story that is going to be demanded from the fans that can be told in, say, a number of novels or...a side-trilogy of movies :). Also at that time, it will even intensify the focus on Rey and Kylo as cousins and how Rey is going to (theoretically) save her dark-side cousin, etc, etc...because, you know, family.

    On the OTHER hand, if Rey is a "nobody", with some parents that somehow vaguely relate to the overall saga, then there are those that will be at the edge of their seats waiting for "Reylo" while the rest of the crowd has to focus on Kylo and how he's going to be redeemed in the end, because SW is a story of the Skywalker family, and that must go on.

    I personally find that it would open a more interesting backstory if Luke IS her father as opposed to her being nobody, which to me personally.....I may not care to know the story.

    That's just me...

    It sickins me, the very thought of Reylo. Say she is Rey Nobody that means nothing but victory & gloating by shippers the next 2 years. Even if they don't become romantic it may drive me away.

    How in the galaxy can Rey have a Force Bond with that piece of trash if thier NOT related.

    Its revolting.

    I think so too. However they also have a lot of room for backstorys if she is a nobody for example explaining what her parents did etc.

    I guess this has more to do with Rey's character and future or past even though it is a quote from Mark Hamill. Did anyone see Mark today on Ellen? He was describing his diet and exercise to get ready for TFA and the read thru etc and waiting for him to come up in his part in the film...etc.
    When he was talking about then part in the film when the lightsaber flew out of the snow to someone's out stretched hands he said he thought it should have been to Luke. "Rey hadn't even finished her training yet". Was this a slip? As far as we know she hadn't even started her training yet. So if Mark said she hadn't finished her training...had she been training at his academy?

    I think we will get Rey's real name (assuming that she took the name from the helmet she was wearing on Jakku) and then we will all have to train ourselves to start using her "real" name

    I think fuel is going to be thrown on the fire of the Reylo discussion by the end of this movie. Which for me will be awesome, but it seems everybody else might want to shoot themselves lol. We need an official Reylo thread btw...

    If Luke dies im gone. If we get full blown romantic Reylo im done. If the falcon blows up, I'm not dun but I'll hate TLJ a lot. If Rey is not a Skywalker or Solo (or a clone) I'm dun.
