    We don't know everything about the new characters (or exactly how much returning favorites have changed), but I feel the characters already have such a strong presence that we can get a good sense of their personalities and backgrounds.

    I don't love the prequels (but I don't hate them either), however when TPM first came out, I remember checking out the latest pictures and clips of the new characters and just somehow knowing I couldn't relate to any of them. I did end up appreciating some of the prequel-folk later on, but I never connected to them the way I did to many of the characters in the OT; Luke's longing for something beyond what he knew, Yoda's quirky wisdom, Leia's tomboyish side, R2's antics, Obi-wan's calmness, Malikili crying over his dead Rancor (lol)...I feel like we can connect to most of the characters is some way.

    So far, which character in TFA is the one that you seem most connected with so far? That doesn't mean your favorite necessarily, but which one do you think you will relate to the most based on what you know?

    Why is Luke Skywalker not a choice. Okay then I go Rey. I relate to Rey. Know what I'm sayin here? Relate. To relate. To have relations. I know I know, it's a slippery slope but there's my answer. I always had a thing for the girl who responds "no one" to the question "who are you?"

    Finn. I feel his intensity, conflict, and situation draws me to him. He just looks like he needs some help. In most of the scenes he looks tired, stressed, or scared. Can't help but to have some empathy for that.

    Finn because I too want greater purpose and a fresh start. I defiantly relate to him in that aspect. He shows us that we can choose our own path no matter where you come from.

    Rey on the other hand is who I would want to have relations with, if you catch my drift...Gigity

    I gotta go with Old Han. I'm a younger guy, in my late 20's. But I can understand a bit about feeling(and knowing) that your best days are behind you(I deal with fairly debilitating chronic illnesses). But at the same time you have a whole lot to offer and you jump at the chance to do what others, especially those who you are closest to, need. I understand this has mostly to do with the advanced age=frailty factor, but personality and willingness to take risk change a bit when you loose the daring you have when you are younger and less experienced/deal with illness.

    It has to do with making a lot big changes in the trajectory of my life. I've realized recently that I haven't felt in control of my own life and let others do as they wish with me and now I'm starting to wake up and figure out what I want/need to be happy. I also appreciate that this forum is a place where we can all co-inhabit and discuss a mutual love over something important to us all.

    I don't think I'd say i feel connected to any of them in the way you are meaning, I LIKE the new characters from what I've seen so far, but I don't know if the fact I don't feel connected to them is my fault or the trailers. I do feel connected to the old cast from a nostalgia and missing my youth kind of way if that counts.

    The whole idea of Poe being born right after ROTJ and joining the resistance and being an X-wing Pilot and idolizing the OT heroes. I was born right after ROTJ, got hooked on the PC game X-Wing at age 7, and idolize the OT heroes.

    Hard to say, because it depends how it plays out which may not how i see it in my head.

    But if IT is close enough to how I think it should play out, it has to be Finn.

    Ruthless stormtrooper (second in command to Phasma) who has an epiphany after committing a heinous crime based on orders, defects to the rebellion, and has time readjusting to a new way of seeing the world, and suddenly feels an awakening in him and realizes he was on the wrong side for most his life, and now has to face those he worked under who he KNOWS are far more powerful than he is, but he has to step up and fight the good fight.
