Yeah, no kidding. I mean how ridiculous is it to have a rocky planet, fire planet, ice planet, gas planet... oh wait :oops:

Btw, whats the best place this side of the outer rim to buy blue milk, power converters, and a pet Kowakian monkey lizard in the same location? That's right...

    Stalwarts!!!

I chose 'other'. I mean- grassy, muddy fields, palm trees, beaches, it looks like we might be getting EARTH. And please, NO MORE TATOOINE.

Just to round things up – Jedha, the spiritual home of the Jedi, is confirmed for the desert-like planet where all the action is during the first teaser.

Meanwhile I believe that the volcanic / Icelandic planet we see Death Troopers on, might be Jyn's home planet. There was a brief scene in the celebrations special teaser showing her as a young girl running away on that same planet the troopers are on. maybe it’s even her doll the trooper is holding?

    JynRUnning.jpg

Maybe the empire then gets hold of Galen Erso?

I'd think they would call for his services again and he refuses so he dies or something on that planet .

The Deathstar was fully operational in ANH, so he worked on it and completed it.
This is more likely a young Jyn running away from Krennic(see his hat, looks more like a captain hat and his cape game is weaker in that pic) and his deathtroopers who capture Galen. The deathtrooper found her doll, maybe something, like that.

With the cameo of Jimmy Smits, a cameo of Alderaan is also getting more likely I think.

Here’s the official SW database entry on Scarif right now:

The planet Scarif would be a beautiful tropical paradise if not for the presence of a major Imperial military installation. Scarif is the principal construction facility for the vast Imperial war machine. The world is enveloped in impenetrable deflector shields and is heavily defended.

Sounds that the Death Star is not the only thing build on or near this planet. The Empires principle construction facility - can it be that this is the reason we might encounter special/prototype tech like the TIE Striker as they are also build there?

I guess such a world will not be located in the outer rim, but more core-wards.

If Lucasfilm sticks with the single environment planet philosophy, where does the rocky planet with all the rain fits in where the x-wing attack the grounded shuttle of Krennic? Most likely it’s Jedha, but will they have such a downpour on a freezing desert moon?! The heavy rain is what got me pondering.

I want Tatooine, solely to have Erso die above it. Or at least have it be the closest planet, as a reasonable explanation for why the Tantive IV is blockade running.

Yeah, but when a man leaves and causes treason, you don't just go back to him to get his help. You kill him.

Hm, I think that the Tantive IV is running for Tatooine in the first minutes of ANH is more a “Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” thing. That’s reasonable enough of me. I thing that guy lives there. ;)

Look what we got here: Rain soaked EADU seems to be the planet we were looking for. Intriguing!

Yavin IV IMO will be first followed by Jedha the rest a mystery.

A very good question indeed! Let me make-up my guess list:
    1. Yavin 4 as kick-off
    2. [Iceland] Jyn’s home planet appearing in a flashback - don't we have a name for it yet?!?
    3. Jedha to get the story rolling
    4. Eadu for whatever needs to be done there (commando style attack on Krennics Shuttle incl. X-Wing air-support)
    5. Scarif for the heist and showdown / big battle
    6. Alderaan for the epilogue because we want it so (Bail, the droids, etc.)

Meanwhile, I believe that 2) and 4) could be one and the same! They might start having the planet in a flashback, but later (re)visit it in the current timeline to do whatever must be done.

Let’s think for a moment, Galen Erso would not be with the empire anymore but hiding out on his old home planet when he transmitted to the alliance. Or he has placed something important there that needs to be recovered.

Besides Jedha the frozen moon, this could be the additional Eadu location Cassian is wearing his warm jacket. And then the rain starts and all the action. There will be quite some ground action going on during the heavy downpour if the sources hint correctly:

    rainShooting2.jpg

Interesting to note is all the moisture on Jyn's Wehrmacht style poncho & goggles also on the promo-pic:

Anyone think it's possible we might see Coruscant in this film? I feel like the red Imperial guards would be stationed mostly there.

And what about Geonosis? (To be honest, I'm surprised they invented Eadu as a base for Death Star planning, considering it looks exactly like Geonosis anyway.)

    Good points!

I would love to visit Coruscant again, just as a sneak peek, but as Ian McDiarmid is not in the Movie, I doubt we will see this planet.

Geonosis would make for an interesting option. But timewise it’s already sterilized and the imperial bases deserted if I remember rebels correctly.

From the last trailers I guess the team is trying to free Galen Erso from Eadu. Or they must have another good reason to make the night-raid during the heavy downpour, involving all kind of X/Y-wings. Actually, it seems to rain a lot on Eadu, also in the scene when Galen is standing on the perch like structure that is blasted later on by the rebel fighters. Maybe that’s even the place they steal one of the new “turtle” shuttles.
