I was watching TPM last night, and it got me thinking about Maul & how short his stint was in the PT.

Do you guys think this could be the case with any of the new characters?

Tarkin, Maul... there has to be a one-off villain for the first film. I hope it's Hux and not Phasma because she is so cool.

Killing off Kylo Ren would be a waste.
General Hux might be the kind that goes "down with the ship" so to speak, but it would be a shame, because he does sound quite interesting.
    Phasma could go either way.
If they really wanted to surprise us, they'd keep them all alive.

I just hope they have less disposable villains in the sequel trilogy.
Maul, Zam Wessel, Jango Fett, Dooku, Grievous... all wasted.

They should have never have gotten rid of Darth Maul; Dooku was an interesting concept (Qui-Gon's master, a foreshadowing of Anakin) but since almost all of that info was deleted, he was absolutely pointless.

Grievous wasn't wasted, in my opinion; he took up a big chunk of time in ROTS. Zam, eh, disposable secondary villains are nothing new, although I liked her comic book and would like to see more of her.

They had potential to do some great things with Dooku... but they went the easy path and made him another apprentice.
Imagine if instead of being a dark lord of the Sith, Dooku was actually someone who was genuinely interested in trying to save the Galaxy from the Sith? What if he was doing things because he actually believed it was the right thing to do? Maybe he felt that he was doing things that the Jedi were too afraid to do?

His character development was severely lacking though. When we first meet him, he runs away... then Obi-wan finds him on Utapau and shoots him with a blaster.
What was so special about Grievous?

My main issue with Zam, was that they gave her a cool ability, which never actually played into the film.
    "I think he's a she, and I think she's a changeling"
"Then we must be extra cautious"
"Not really, because she's not going to use that ability anyway. I'm just pointing out a meaningless fact."

In AOTC Dooku says he was Qui-Gon's master and Yoda's apprentice.

It's difficult to grow an emotional attachment to a Villain in 2 hours and then kill that Villain off. So I am hoping they just play it safe and they all return for Episode VIII. But knowing about Benico Del Toro, I doubt they will all live.

Since this movie is basically a soft reboot, Hux is likely the one to go.

Yes, but it's not exactly a 'moment', is it? He is introduced so late, you barely give a crap. I was very disappointed, knowing walking in that the new Sith Lord was Qui-Gon's master. But that fact alone doesn't make the character interesting, they did nothing with him.

I think they invented that ability pretty late in the game, to make the sequence more interesting. You'd think a shape-shifter would, erm, shape-shift to get away from the Jedi who were chasing her.

You would think so... but as you said, it was most likely an afterthought, which gave them an opportunity to use some more meaningless CG effects.

Had they done the character right, she would have infiltrated security using some sort of disguise... someone would have figured things out... and she would have been caught when trying to infiltrate the apartment, again in disguise...

    Kylo kill Han
    Luke kills Kylo
    Rey turns at end.

Snoke uses Kylo as wedge to get powerful Rey out of hiding. Kylo dies, however he has a ton of screen time so its driver's chance to pull a Brando.

Btw, that last scene is Luke flying the falcon to skelling to try to convince Rey to come back....when Luke gets there he sees this...

You gotta give it to them. To have a main character fly out to an isolated set and still all he gets is some old concept art, damn you're doing a good job keeping things underwraps.

Need to do your homework a little better because you have nothing to back that up. Matches a lot of Snoke descriptions BUT ill make it even more simple for you.

This is Rey approaching Snoke, not Luke, to be trained...

Here's a homework assignment. Take a look at the picture that concept is based on. And what does Luke do when he walks in on Rey at Dark Side Class? Walk away with his dick in his hand like he just got back from the punch bowl to find his date dancing with the biggest jerk in school? Please.

I don't know about that. Most of the reliable sources of information say Snoke is either reptilian or an old, zombie-like man.
The cyborg concept fits neither description.

The cave shot is Luke, the arm-wrapped-around shot is Kylo. At least according to virtually every reliable source that reported on this concept art (although they initially reported that the cyborg was Luke, too).
