Its mine. So it may not be GL's intension but while watching Attack of the Clones I remember thinking that Dooku had that sort of Elegant vibe that Vader had but scarier . . . but wait Fear was Maul's thing. I thought huh Vader is like both. Then later when we learned more about Grievous it sealed it for me.

When Obi Wan shoots Grievous and kills the only living parts of him and then later in the film leaves Anakin burning alive creating the need for machines to keep him alive a very "burning away the last of his humanity" moment.

That's not to say that the short lived time particularly for Maul could not have been extended.

Han Solo, so that Rey and Finn can escape.

My "shock" death is Snoke who does not survive the film.

Ignoring the clone wars, would it not have been more meaningful to have Anakin face off all 3 of these? In the films he barely even saw Darth Maul, and he didn't spend much time with Grievous either.

General Hux definitely, and maybe Han.

I don't think Anakin needed to interact with them; they were glimpses for the audience.

I will be shred into a tiny million pieces if Han Solo dies in this movie. I actually thought Chewie could die, that would be equally devastating. I don't know why, but I have this feeling Kylo might be a goner and the real villian will emerge, someone like Snoke.

I think Hux will die more than Phasma & Kylo, failure for a officer status as he is inevitable I just hope it's not one of those ''apology accepted General Hux'' moments.

Which was still kind of pointless for a lot of the audience who have already seen who he becomes...
Still, it could have been done better.
Dooku, for instance, would have been better had he been someone who wasn't specifically a Sith/on the Dark Side of the Force, but was merely doing things which be believed were necessary to save the galaxy from the Sith... in the end, he is manipulated into doing the very opposite.
And I also think Grievous was confusing for a lot of people. I don't think many would have realised that he was ever a 'man' so the idea that he was "more machine now than man" wouldn't have entered into their minds.

No but that is part of the picture. Maul who was the fearsome attack dog warrior killed Qui-Gon. So we seen the Jedi (Obi-Wan) fail to keep someone Anakin cared about from dying. That fear is part of what pushes Anakin and makes Vader and it is that same fearsome dread you see later when Vader steps through the smoke on the Tantive V.

With the Grievous the path back to Anakin is the jedi (again Obi-Wan) who faces and kills Grievous' shooting him in thheart. Anakin was driven sure the problems in his motives, fear (Maul), the lust for power (Dooku) but he was driven. Grievous was so driven that he continued living long after most of his body was gone. Anakin was tempted away from the Jedi because of those things that were his heart (Padme) the Jedi (who failed Qui-Gon), would judge him a monster if they knew how he avenged his mom, the Jedi would object to the attachments he made to Padme, it was the Jedi would not let him learn the secrets that could save Padme. Secrets unnatural, perhaps as unnatural as becoming mostly machine.

They don't need to interact for them to be individualized ideals that are part of Vader.
