It already has ended, all the characters coming from the former saga are dead except the droids who had maybe 5 lines in the last movie.

    Well said!

TBH, I find that the three junior novel series- Adventures in Wild Space, Servants of the Empire and the Join the Resistance! are more in line with traditional SW stories as well as a lot more interesting and well thought up. At this rate, I might stop seeing the movies and stick with the books.

The weirdest thing is to note that the outcome of Luke, Leia and Han story finally gave birth to pure chaos and the raising of what they all fight during their life.

No more Skywalker, no more Star Wars.
If you disagree, please tell me what makes a film Star Wars for you.
    To answer OP, me.

For me Star Wars isn't about the Skywalkers. Star Wars is an adventure about ordinary people doing extraordinary stuff (a nobody becomes somebody, a hero). It's about finding a place where you belong to. It's about becoming a family.

Saying that Star Wars isn't Star Wars without the Skywalkers is nonsense. There are so many more characters who define this saga. Obi-Wan, Yoda, Palpatine and so on. Hell, the most popular Star Wars character isn't even a Skywalker, Han Solo.

    Agreed 100%
Star Wars wasn't explicitly about the Skywalkers until 20 years later when Lucas made it all about them.
The last name Skywalker isn't even important until the last 5 minutes of Empire.

If they want to stop the "saga" films at 9, so be it. But it's certainly not the end of Star Wars.

in 1983 when RotJ was wrapping up the OT, i honestly didn't know anyone who would have said that Star Wars was "about" the Skywalkers.
