Who's Acting Impressed You The Most?

gleeson ridley driver stole it for me in that order.. Even with a small role, Gleeson did a terrific job being evil

 

For me, the best performances came from John Boyega and Harrison Ford. They made it easier for me to enjoy the film.

 

No complains about.acting in TFA. The new and old guys did a really good job. Thanks JJ.

 

Adam Driver - what a performance! Tour de force! (pun totally intended!)

 

EVERYBODY was GOOD in the movie BUT Daisy....She is my girl....SHE WAS AMAZING!!!
Her character has it ALL!!!

 

Probably has to be Daisy Ridley. I know she isn't the best actor on the cast but it was the fact that she was completely unknown and that this was her first film, paired with how well she did.

 

Daisy Ridley killed it. I felt like she brought a lot of vulnerability , strength, and realism to the role. Her look when she grabs the lightsaber against Kylo Ren completely sells that moment. I feel like half of what sucked me in to the character was not what was in the script but through a lot of unspoken reactions from her on screen. So far she's the best acted "lead" character in any of the seven movies.

 

I was greatly impressed by the acting as a whole in this movie. It was far and away the best film in the SW saga from an acting standpoint.

Daisy was the one who impressed me the most. As it has been stated by many others, her ability to display a wide range of emotions without words was outstanding. The fact that she had relatively no experience before this role and I did not know what to expect from her is why she impressed me the most. She appears to have a bright future.

John, Oscar, and Adam were great as well. The future of SW is in great hands.

As far as the old guard it was obvious why Harrison is one of the greatest actors over the past 30 years. He eased back into the role of Han Solo effortlessly and made it feel like he has never done anything else. Mark, whose acting in the OT was less than stellar (although Luke is a great character), demonstrated how he has really matured as an actor in just the brief time we saw him. I look forward to seeing this play out in VIII as I expect Luke to be a much more mature character and I think Mark will be brilliant in this role.

 

I was reading his interview with EW and he's basically a real-life Han Solo lol.

 

I actually never minded Mark's acting in the OT. Even in ANH, where I've always found Luke to be kind of flat as a character, I didn't mind Mark's performance. He did fine with what he was given to work with, and actually had some moments of genuinely good subtlety (his reaction to seeing Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru's charred corpses being one of these). And I thought that he was really good in ESB and especially ROTJ.

And given how well she played off of Harrison Ford, I cannot wait to see how Daisy and Mark play off of each other. It should be interesting.

 

Daisy Ridley was fantastic. She really made you feel the emotions Rey felt. Despair, reluctance, wonder... you could really relate to her. All of Rey's reactions to things felt genuine and authentic.

Adam Driver had a difficult task, because he had to play a powerful warrior, yet a very insecure individual. And he also wore a mask for a lot of the film, so he had only his voice and his physicality to work with. He really sold this character and made him believable. You could feel his inner conflict.

John Boyega was great too. He carried the character all the way through the film from being afraid and guilty to being brave and caring. Some of Finn's dialogue wasn't great but John made it work. I am very interested to see where this character goes next.

Lupita Nyong'o was really underrated in my opinion. You need some skill to bring a motion capture character to life, but Lupita delivered that physicality. I hope she isn't underused in VIII and IX like she was in TFA because she is a great actress.

 

Yeah. But I think Mark Hamill in TESB is still.my favorite. In my opinion Hamill is a great actor, better than Ford for example.

 

Hamil is DEFINITELY a character actor .

 

Han and all 4 of the new central figures were outstanding. I can't remember a recent film that was cast so well as this. All of them had so much charisma.

I was so glad to see it was just the opposite of what had been reported.

 

Mark Hamill was the best actor in TFA .

 

He really did such an amazing job at the end. He does some of his best acting with no lines - and that is saying something given the great voice actor that he is. The end at TFA is right up there for me with Yoda's death scene. Hamill knocks it out of the park when Yoda dies after just revealing that there is another Skywalker. I love watching him trying to process both of those things at the same time.

 

He deserves an Oscar .

 

Oscar's are giving out for great acting. They exist, now-a-days, so that movie snobs can pat themselves on the back when the masses fail to do so with their dollars.

 

I will pay myself on the back when I get mine within 5 years .

 

For a part in a Star Wars, movie I hope.
