My vote is on other. There is a character in the Star Wars universe who, through think and thin has lost many comerades, survived some of the most brutal battles in the galatic civil war, does not have the force to aid him, and took on some of the most suicidal missions in the rebel alliance. His name is Wedge. "It's like you said: the Death Star had to be stopped. Just as the Empire must be destroyed. If that's going to happen, some of us have to get blood on our hands. We have to be willing to kill, and willing to die. It's not easy and it never will be. But I can tell you this much, Kyrell. It's easier than standing by and doing nothing."―Wedge Antilles, to Thane Kyrell.

See, what alot of people don't know, is that Wedge had a character arc in the original trilogy, let me explain. So, put yourself in Wedge's shoes. Things are tense at Yavin, the princess has gone missing, and alderann was destroyed. The higher ups are freaking out. A few hours later the princess shows up with a farm boy, A walking carpet, two allaince droids, and a wanted man in the uglyiest looking ship you have ever seen. In the rebel breifing, you know the odds are heavily against you, you question how the heck your supposed to get a shot off in a vent that is only 2 meters wide relying on technology, then the farm boy turns to you (with no experience in an X-wing) and says "it's not impossible, I used to bullsey some wamprats with my T-16 back home, their not that much bigger than 2 meters". Wedge would think to himself "This kid had no idea what he is getting himself into, there will be tiefighters, turrets, this is impossible!

"Look at the size of that thing!" "Are you sure that the computer can hit it?" "What about that tower?" "Im hit, I can't stay with you..sorry" did you expect Wedge, one of the bravest most skilled piolets in the alliance say things like that? You just saved the farm boy from being roasted from a tie fighter, gold leader and red leader are dead, things look hopeless. You know have no idea what your doing, "Right with ya boss" so the farm boy looks confident, ill let him order me around and let him go for the shot. Wedge, falling out of line and fleeing when his xwing was barley scratched. He left biggs to die. You're full of regret, It's finished, until, out of nowhere, that ugly looking ship comes in and helps out Luke. Your amazed at what just happened, you now want to be like Luke, and you want to redeem yourself, Death star blows up, back to yavin, you know you're lucky to have lived.

"Through his service to the Rebel Alliance, he garnered the respect of his fellow Rebel fighters. Focused and calm during his flights, he firmly believed that the only way to improve as a pilot was to constantly come up against the impossible and push oneself to the limit; during battles, he would concentrate on keeping his cool and trusting his instincts. Despite his talent and standing among his fellow pilots, Antilles remained approachable and friendly to those around him." In the battle of Hoth wedge was the MVP, he was encouraging "Great shot Janson!" "Whoa, that got him!" "Good luck Luke! see you at the rondeveu!" he was skilled "I see it Wedge, good work" but most of all he was brave, he didnt back down from a single fight ever again. However, there was something that still stuck to you, the death star, you wished things could have gone differently...

Battle over Endor. Wedge, now a commander and Red leader, stook by the Falcon (the ugliest ship you have ever seen) till the very end. He destroyed the Death star agasint all odds, he didn't rely on his "computer" but on his gut and insticts to get through it. "Good shot red 2!" heh brings back memories. This is why these movies are so good, becuase they have so many little details on each character, no matter how small the role. But ya, Wedge is a M.A.N he's is brave as f**k. My vote on wedge. Question, why is padme on there instead of Han or Wedge?

Padme Amidala. One badass woman-especially considering she wasn't a Jedi!

I don't think you could measure who is the bravest. Anakin jumping out the window, Han and Chewie chasing stormtroopers in the Death Star, Luke falling in the chute rather than join Vader, so many who have taken risks one after one, with or without help from the Force. Love love the Wedge post above. A very minor character, often overlooked, with a character arc all his own. These films are so full of courage.

i had a hard time picking too. partly because the ST still has a ways to go, but also because there are so many kinds of bravery in Star Wars.

i've never thought of Luke as brave so much as just uncompromisingly "right" and when you're right (and unafraid), bravery isn't really a factor.
Leia is brave, but she is primarily dutiful. she has prepared to make sacrifices and is resigned at all costs.
Han was brave for profit, then later brave for a cause, and finally brave in his sacrifice. but again, i feel like what drove him was rational and resigned. even though he had fear, he had a greater sense of duty.
Anakin was not brave to me. he was weak and foolish like his grandson ~ hahaha.
i don't find Padme to be brave either, but i barely remember her (eek).
Obi-Wan and Rey are similarly brave: a mix between Luke & Leia's "rightness" and duty: bravery by necessity.

so i picked Finn. because he had nothing to gain by being brave and everything to lose.
he doesn't have any stakes in the galaxy like Obi-Wan or Luke. he doesn't even have a specific loyalty like Leia. and he could just walk away from all of this without it being any kind of moral quandary for him (in fact, he almost did ~ right?).
and his choice to be brave required him to overcome his own personal terror by confronting the FO to rescue Rey.

The bravest character in SW has to be without a doubt R2-D2.
    ArtooTFA2-Fathead.png
Seeing as the droids in the SW galaxy have many emotions like happiness and fear, little R2 has beat the odds many times to save the day. R2 didn't stray from the task of fixing Queen Amidala's ship even if every other R2 droid was being blown to bits right there in front of him. He has strolled threw enemy fire countless times so that he can help his friends and he even had the guts to take on Super Battle Droids without a thought. He has been electrocuted, blasted, swallowed by a monster, kicked by a Super Battle Droid, sunken in murky swamp water, buried in sand and even been shot by a frikin Tie Fighter and the little blue droid never backs down! He is extremely loyal and he is completely reliable no matter what danger stands in his way. And all of this is just counting the movies cause if I were to count all of his brave actions in Clone Wars, I would have lots of other things this little droid has done.
