I think Kylo was more drawn to the Dark than Luke. Luke did everything to remain in the Light, so he was not balanced. Ben was Light but also intrigued by the Dark and could use both or would be able to if trained. I agree Kylo is being deceived and seduced though, but not about his abilities. Most likely about his family and the past.

I was merely referring to the idea that RJ was trying to hint at any such connection by posting thread pictures on twitter, because that's definitely not true.

I always took line to mean that Ben could become ether a powerful light side user or a powerful dark side user depending on which path he follows. This would explain why Snoke is son treated in him as if he was turned then he would indeed be a powerful dark side user.

i love this ~ very elegant explanation for the apparent contradiction.
i know some people have a problem with Ben being more powerful than Luke or Leia, but i think he is.
i think, in fact, that's kind of the point--and why we need Rey.

To solve this just look at who is Luke's mother and his father. Luke is more like his mother even though he inherit the force from his father and Leia did. Luke and Leia is more like the mother Padmé Amidala choosing the right/light side over the darkside. But it does not mean Kylo Ren is more like his grand mother rather yet he adores his grandfather and he is his grandfather Darth Vader.

Snoke using the power that Kylo Ren inhert from his grandfather and useing it for his own benefit, but Kylo Ren also is clearly also on his own mission and the sign of this is when Snoke told Hux to destroy bb8 Kylo Ren want to catch bb8 so he can get the map to Luke Skywalker because he wants something Luke have something that belongs to Darth Vader. Kylo Ren manipulated Hux by insulting his ego by saying his stromtroopers can not retrive a droid and maybe Snoke should used a clone army this is where Hux allow his troopers not to destroy bb8 but to retrieve the droid. This a clear sign Kylo Ren also on his own mission and he using Snoke's army to do so, at the same time he is serving Snoke so they both or using each other for the greater evil.

Personally I don't want to see that happen. I agree there seemed to be some sort of a realization of familiarity between Rey and Kylo Ben. I'm not reading any more into it than either two people who came across each other when they were young or two people recognizing a common power.

I certainly don't think it signified anything foreshadowing romance. I also don't think Disney would allow a romance to start when the guy had the girl shackled to a table and was trying to torture her.

I also think having a fallen, mask wearing, guy from the Skywalker clan get redeemed would be too predictable/repetitive for me.

People are responding that this is funny. I think it's darn serious. TFA underwhelmed in China, I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to boost the movie's appeal there.

If they want to do it, using red is... a strange choice. Red is one of colurs of the Chinese flag, but so is the case with USA, Poland, Spain, Canada, France, Nepal, Australia, Egypt, UAE, Portugal, etc. You don't use national colour to market your film, especially if it's as commonly used as red. Do you truly think that a random Chinese man/woman would make a connection that red is somehow tailored to them?
