At least you inspired me to inform myself @The_Force_didn't_wake! As a result I've resolved never to use political correctness as a pejorative (unless it's excessive and unbalanced of course.)

    politically correct
    • adj.
Of, relating to, or supporting broad social, political, and educational change, especially to redress historical injustices in matters such as race, class, gender, and sexual orientation.
Redressing injustice sounds good to me - in Star Wars or anywhere else. So a director and producer push a couple of roles to women and people with dark skin - big deal. You play the quota card? Save it until screens start reflecting reality...you may be in for a shock.

Can we lock or merge this thread with the other "negative-threads"? It doesn't add anything on its own.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and BLABLABLABLLA. But hahahahahaha you are so wrong it is actually funny.
I have heard some justifiable complaints about this movie, but most of yours are just plain stupid. Try actually THINKING

Complaints that i won't even bother talking about because they're just too damn stupid are 1, 2, 5

    Now to the fun ones.
    3. I understand your gripe and i have it too (partially)
    4. That's what make TFA such a good movie. Face it. That's what JJ meant to do
    6. Nope. It was found, changed many hands, and ended up with Maz. It's in the novel. It would have been in the film too if it was 5 hours long
    7. The lightsaber was calling to Rey. We have seen force visions happen before (Anakin's dreams).
    8. God do you want a 10 minutes of pointless backstory on what they where doing. If it was, you'd be complaining about that too.
BTW, they were tracking the faclon, and hauling Rathtars or whatever they are. Did you watch the movie?
    9. They tried to get it to leak again but they failed. Rey was in the middle of unfixing it when she dropped something and was found by Han
    Did you watch the movie?
    10. Luke's family monologue is from previous films. And they are TRAILERS. We didn't see a BUNCH of stuff in the film that was in the trailers. They cut it down, get over it
    11. This ones in the grey area, but still if you weren't so close minded you might have been able to figure out a satisfactory theory to explain it
    12. First of all 2v1. Second, he's not fully trained, or a sith. Third, he was BADLY injured. He got jabbed and sliced a bunch of times by a freaking lightsaber, plus he took a shot to the hip from Chewie's bowcaster. The same bowcaster that they keep on hyping up during the film, of how badass and powerful it is. Did you watch the film?
    13. This is one of my complaints to. I feel you. But by no means does it make TFA a bad film

So NITPICKY!!!!!! If you have this kind of view and attitude for not only other movies but in day to day life I do feel bad for you. Get help :)

So basically what you're saying is that if one's personal feelings towards to the movie doesn't align with yours then we can all jump into a trash compactor?? Are you Donald Trump?

Are these the trolls that terrorize Youtube and the IMDB? And he came all the way here to vent his anger? I'm actually glad The Force Awakens helps us to distinguish the idiots from the sane. The OP is obviously the former. Go troll some place else.

your last sentence (and the title of this thead) make me understand that no metter how many people you'll speak with or how many will tell you what they think, you'll never listen to them, and more importantly you'll never respect someone that has a different opinion, if this is the case a forum isn't a place for you.

I think however that you're just trolling, especially for the point 14 of the OP... that point makes no sense

There is this guy on the IMDB who has 120 gmail accounts and posted the same review (1/10) with exactly the same text a 120 times on the IMDB. Star Wars is suffering from some real trolling. The fact that the movie has female and nigerian-british lead really seems to upset them. Racists and sexists no doubt.

I don't know why anyone would take this seriously, considering this was his only post and his username, alongside his title, are clickbait as frell.

Totally agree with you. I have quite a few problems with the movie too as well as the points you made. I don't understand why it's getting such big praise from people. I gave it 6.5/10 from 5/10 after my third viewing as there are a few things that worked for me but there are so many that don't. It doesn't come anywhere near the brilliance of the original trilogy for me.

I haven't seen such bad and unnuanced arguments why people dislike a movie since Schindler's list.

    you say:
So you went to see a movie you did not like 3 times. You are determined to be disapointed? If you did not like it, why go watch it 3 times? You also watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 times in a row?

I had already bought tickets for it. One show was 70mm version and I hadn't seen a 70mm film before. Two of the shows after the first one was on the same day and I went with a friend. It was also because I just wanted to hang out with my friend. To be honest after the first viewing of it I was disappointed. I went to see it again because I so wanted to enjoy it and I thought that maybe after a second view I would see more in it to like. Stop being so judgemental and jumping to conclusions. There was alot going on in the movie. How can you expect me to conclude my feelings about it after one watch? Also it means after watching it three times I have made sure I have a well informed opinion of the movie. There were some things I liked about it as I've said before and I made sure I was going to watch it more than once, I waited a long time for that movie!
