Why we can not understand those beeps from BB-8 and R2-D2???

    Watching SW movies make me thinking WHY we can NOT understand those beeps and sounds from droids like BB-8 and R2-D2.WHY the producers did not add some subtitles to make our life more easy to understand them.I wish sometimes to know those beeps from R2-D2 to C3PO.Looks that R2-D2 is saying something rude to C3PO because he reacts hitting R2-D2 in a lot of scenes.Also when BB-8 say those beeps i wish i know what is he is saying to Rey in the movie.The funny thing is.... Did you remember a droid in Maz castle and when this droid see BB-8,Han Solo,Rey and Finn this droid call the Rebels and in subtitles you can read..."Tell the Rebels that the droid they looking for is here".Why they add subtitles for this droid and NOT for our BB-8 and R2-D2???I NEVER can understand this.I wish the producers can do something about this.I think we can enjoy the movie more better.I make a poll about this.I hope the producers watch this thread and add some subtitles in a future no FAR FAR AWAY...;).

    it's all about context. we can understand what BB-8 is saying generally because whoever he's interacting with often repeats key words or responds in a way that makes the droid's line apparent.

    the droid in Maz's castle has no one to respond to provide the context. hence the subtitles.

    i prefer they don't translate droid. or wookie for that matter.

    half the charm is that we can get their drift if we look at their body language, inflection, and other contextual clues.

    I love it. This is an area I think the lack of explanation is genius - just like old R2. It cuts across language, culture, ages, and really adds to the foreignness of the far away galaxy IMHO. It reminds me of the feelings I got seeing A New Hope as a kid and traveling as a young adult.

    But that's just me. (I used to get a little uncomfortable and, I guess, a bit racist when hearing people talk in a foreign language around me ["in my country" etc] until I traveled a bit and got to be the foreigner tourist/immigrant worker. Nowadays I love the feeling of novelty, strangeness and the challenge of having to rely on other senses and cues to try and fathom meaning.)

    They added the subtitles to move the stories forward plus wasn't Bazine the one who called the do on them v

    Bazine call the FO but a droid call the Resistance and they add subtitles for the droid.It look like a medical droid BUT is not.I can not find the correct one....Sorry.

    We've never seen other droids really "talk" in SW before as far as I am aware so that could be another reason or maybe because of the TYPE of droid .

    Really...I'm OK with Chewie.I was wondering maybe to know what those beeps from R2-D2 means to C3PO.It looks that are bad words.NOW...I understand why they use beeps....:p.I ONLY made the question if MAYBE someone else will like to know....:).

    It would be fun to have a book released as a "manual" that Rey read on Jakku while learning Droid Basic .
