I know that the Thrawn Trilogy was great, but I think there are lesser know character that should be use to keep the distraction to a minimum...I don't know... Corran Horn would make a cool Jedi, anyone of the Fel family member would be cool too, oh and Kyle Katarn. Horn and Katarn could be part of the new jedi council just as cameo or something :)

Gotta be honest, I never truly dug the Mara Jade character- er- not necessarily the "character" perse', but the idea behind the character. Sure, there ends up being a cute relationship between her and Luke (and then having the family and all) but seriously I never could take the idea serious. Luke meeting a chick and getting hitched somewhere down the road? Sure that's cool, but her origin/background story bugs me, as does the way they met and then fell in love. I don't even like the name "mara jade"....sounds way too cheesy. No offense meant to anyone who likes her.

I'd LOVE to see Kyle Katarn or a like-type character though. I dig his story and even more the type of relationship him and Luke came to have.

Also the Outrider is simi-cannon in that it was in the background in Mos Eisley in the Special Edition of Ep. IV.

I don’t see them introducing Mara Jade as an established character in this movie. There will be enough expository pieces to put in place and new characters to introduce without touching a relationship that most people have no investment in. I also don’t see Disney allowing a reimagining that would give Luke a love story in this trilogy. Its unlikely they will devote any significant time to a 60+ year old falling in love in a blockbuster movie. Star Wars is powerful, but not powerful enough to completely shy away from established blockbuster rules and demographic pandering.

What I could see, is Luke having been with Mara (perhaps not even named) and her having died prior to the movie. Her death being the cause of his speculated self-exile on Dagobah. Perhaps he lost control of his powers and killed her in a horrible accident. Perhaps, some sort of lapse kept him from protecting her.

This way, in the canon continuity Mara exists. EU fans can imagine they still met under similar circumstances as before. Plenty of room for books or spinoffs to retcon their relationship. But they don’t have to worry about introducing this new character who will likely be cheated out of significant screen time by the new young stars and OT heroes.

I think there's more a chance of the tech (vehicles & stuff) in EU appearing E7 than rather the characters?

Which, If any EU Characters would you like to see in Episode 7?

Personally I'd like to see Grand Admiral Thrawn or Joruus C'Baoth. Not the same exact characters per-se, but just tp be able to notice their traits in another would great. I really think a twisted Jedi clone would be awesome. And Thrawn was so cunning you could believe he was able to restore the Empire.

I think the Ice Cream Man; Willrow Hood should get his own spin off Star Wars film. He already has a action figure.

    None of them!

It seems that each new Star Wars movie and each special release tries to be a "greatest hits" album, with cameo appearances and back stories to every single character. Enough already! We didn't need Threepio's origins, or Boba Fett's. We didn't need to see a CGI version of Sebulba in Jabba's palace in the latest re-release of Return of the Jedi. What made the Holiday Special suck so bad? The whole effort of trying to include the entire Star Wars cast when the story didn't call for their appearance.

Just tell a great story. If the story doesn't require a cameo of Lando or Mara Jade or Wedge or Jar Jar or whoever Warrick Davis is playing, KEEP THEM OUT! Don't include them just because "Hey, it's Captain Panaka! I remember him!"

Was that supposed to be Sebulba in Jabba's palace? I thought it was a generic dug. I kinda liked that addition, to give more unity to the saga.
