Doesn't matter. Disney holds the reigns now.

Nothing against them, personally, but I still think there should be a "neither" option in this poll as well. (If it was up to me, they would be side characers somewhere, maybe a little subplot on the way to the grand showdown in the end.)

Sorry nope. Not sure where you heard that. He originally had a 12 part saga in his mind. And if they have too they would just make something up starting the new cast later in their lives. Just like this.

And that's why they threw out Ardt's script, based on Lucas's treatments, and JJ and Kasdan wrote their own?
Did Lucas write the scripts or make up Rebels? Nope yet those exist.

@The_Coon is pretty obsessed with Star Wars only existing with Uncle George's involvement...I'd actually be hard pressed to find a single post that doesn't involve that.

Odd, but it's sort of like Kibbles obsession that nothing really exists outside of the OOT, so maybe this absolute mind of thinking is more prevalent than I thought.

As for the Mandalorians, I think what we saw in TCW is interesting. Mandalore was split between peace and war factions, with Satine's pacifist in control because it was the era of the Republic. With the rise of the Empire, I would imagine that the War side would gain considerable favor (think the rise of fascism after World War I). The 30 some odd years between VI and VII would allow for them to rebuild and begin filling at least part of the power vacuum.

For example, if the concept art with Leia meeting with the Hutts is true, I think that points to a growth in Hutt Space power...so we may be seeing a highly fractionalized Galaxy with Alliance Space, Imperical Space, Hutt Space, Mandalorian Space, etc...could be very interesting to see how the power brokerages form.

Now if that's not the situation, I still see a reformed, remilitarized Mandalore that is an army for hire. Elite "mandos" in an era without battle droids and clones to fight wars.

I am really hoping that they do some Old Republic time frame movies and I could definitely see Mandalorians playing a large role in those.

Im not obsessed necessarily with George Lucas HIMSELF being involved its more about TRADITION sort of. A chapter in the main saga not in any way conceived by the CREATOR wouldn't feel GENUINE to me know what I mean it'd be like big budget fanfiction

Meh but Lucas also had tons and tons of notes for ideas which I believe Disney has copies of as well.

I just don't see how they could possibly justify setting us up with new, young actors to fall in love with without giving them two trilogies, especially when it seems so much of at least VII will be dominated by the OT cast and setting up back story.

Everything I've heard suggests its one big ensemble (wel L except that one bit BOUT FORD but I never believed that I think that was just hyped up by trolls to make his injury seem like a bigger deal than it was)

If there is a chance that they will be important in the ST, then Rebels will give hints at that. I mean that is what Rebels is for, to some extent.

You will never convince me that Lucas is some storytelling mastermind who had a 12-part saga in mind. I dont even buy the 9 part bit. Mostly because depending on which interview he gives the number changes and some of the final story choices are drastically different than what was originally intended (Leia being a Skywalker, Vader as Luke's Dad etc.) I think Lucas stumbled onto his story bit by bit and honestly the best movie didnt even involve him much. I hope JJ takes the movie a different direction than Lucas imagined if only because if Star Wars has shown anything its that it is an incredible story telling medium that people other than Lucas utilize correctly. Larry Kasdan knows how to operate in this universe and do it well.So we should be thankful GL isnt that involved.
