Would this improve The Last Jedi? (A welcome to both "lovers" and "haters"

I don't know anyone who wanted Luke to be a "macho action hero." I know a lot of people - myself included - who wanted him to behave in a manner consistent with one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history and like a Jedi Master would though.

E4 if Rian Johnson had written it:
"Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!"
"How did you find me? Go away."

Tried to cut this off before it became pure just ridiculous fan fic'ing not actual suggestions.

1. No. Hux isn't Tarkin. He's a bastard child who craves approval and attention. His over the top behavior and lack of being taken serious is a part of his character. He's supposed to not be as scary in the way Tarkin did but at times more scary because he's less predictable.

2. What physics is space were defied? More of this nonsensical bantha poodoo? Got some bad news for you about Star Wars and defying "physics"

3. No. Hyperspace tracking is much worse than a spy. It means it can no longer be an ex-machina for getting away. In an impossible predicament? jump to light speed! Not anymore. Now they can follow you through it.

4. No.

5. No, he's not there yet. And he wasn't being a coward and running away. He was trying to protect Rey. He still hadn't picked a side. He was trying to play the middle again. Canto Bight was all about him realizing he has to pick a side eventually.

6. Last time he held that lightsaber, his dad cut off his hand and tried to turn him to the dark side. Even his dad gave no shits about that lightsaber when he lopped it off in Luke's hand and sent it careening in Cloud City. This is also the saber used to kill all the younglings. What about this screams "revere this item!"? That saber represents everything he had become disillusioned with.

7. They give him more time to mourn Han than Leia mourned Alderaan. This just isn't something Star Wars allots time for.

9. No. How is that less ridiculous than what happened?

10. No. He's Ackbar. He's not Leia. He's famous from one line that turned into a meme. The actor who played him passed away and they wrote him off. And it doesn't render every battle moot. Well, it doesn't if you understand cost of war and realize there's a damn reason most nations don't hire suicide bombers and kamikaze pilots. The Resistance is underfunded and undersupported in the Republic. Hence old ships. Why would they have new ships? Why would they be willing to take their limited resources and throw them into First Order ships and deplete their armada when the FO could just send ship after ship?

 

The mob was deleted from the continuity and due to this a space mammal milking maybe in order. Until Fredo destroys some Death Stars there isn't a lot going on.

 

- Have a time-skip.
--- Even a week would have been something.
-- And actually have characters remember what happened a day ago.
- Remove Rose, replace with Poe Dameron.
- Remove Holdo, replace with General Leia or Admiral Ackbar.
- Restore Finn's deleted story arc.
--- And stop abusing him for laughs.
- De-hermit Luke Skywalker.
--- He can be jaded without being a hapless bum.
--- Luke will never be close to what Yoda was in ROTJ.
- Don't make Hux comical, he's a Nazi that wiped out a system.
- Don't make Kylo Ren blameless, he's a killer and ordered a massacre.
- Have Rey learn something; struggle, and reflect.
- Make Snoke intimidating and not ignorant.
--- Even him being ill and on the verge of death would have worked.
- Have a funeral for Han Solo.
--- And allow Chewie and Leia grieve over the loss.
