SPECULATION OFFICIAL Rey Discussion Thread

Could be that she has a bounty on her head from the 1st Order for helping a turncoat soldier and a member of the resistance. She might be thinking about how she can never go home again, the only home she's ever known, and Han might be the one to tell her what being a wanted person is all about. She'd be miffed at Finn for getting her caught up in all this too.

Either that or she's just realized she left the oven on.

In any event it would be an interesting similarity to old man Solo.

or perhaps she's had her home planet blown up just like dear old mom.

 

I keep going back and forth with this and maybe it was inspired by reading this fanfiction (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11326082/1/My-Father-Has-It) and then seeing Mark Hamill's face at the end of this video below, but...I'm starting to believe that through the misdirections or possible misdirections, that they purposefully put Daisy Ridley between Fisher and Ford to make us believe or infer that she is their daughter because she is actually Luke's daughter.

It actually is starting to give me more chills than the thought of her being Leia/Han's. I was the biggest, "Putting my foot down she is a SOLO EVERYONE SORRY" but now reading this fanfiction and seeing this video has compelled me to be stuck/leaning towards the "She's a Skywalker" group. Rey/Kira Skywalker is not bad on the tongue. Finn Skywalker/Solo...? ehhh I have no opinion on that yet.
I seriously need some reassurance that everything is going to be okay in the time leading to this movie that I can't stop thinking about.

 

I've been Team Rey Skywalker since last October. It's kinda lonely when very few people on this forum think the same.

Also, I'm currently digging the idea that 'Rey' is short for Rachel.

Was thinking earlier with Rey's apparent use of a staff, pretty much guaranteed she'll be using a double bladed lightsaber by the end of the trilogy?

 

I think'd it be a fun inversion to made Finn the moral and emotional center for Rey.

 

That's who will bring Rey back from the dark side into the light.

 

OOO that would be amazing. I think maybe she will start out with a traditional lightsaber in the end of VII, and in VIII she'll find herself in weak areas in that style and in IX construct a double blade of her own, like how Kylo constructed his own as well and reference to Luke also constructing his own in the last episode of the OT. Maybe we will see weakness in Kylo's blade too? Unless we see, it might work. Maybe in the fight Rey sees a weakness in Kylo's lightsaber and manipulates the fight to cut off his hand.

 

There is no way that Rey can take Kylo on on her own, let alone surviving a lightsaber fight with him. It would also seem be to easy if she just won the fight and killed Kylo or just chased him away. It would make Kylo seem to weak which I'm sure he is not. No no, Rey will probably be strong in the force, but she needs lightsaber training and Luke will train her and back her up in the fight with Kylo.

it's interesting you see it that way. If Kylo is our only known force user, besides Finn that we see, how would Kylo have received his lightsaber training? From Snoke? Does he truly have a knowledge of the force or is he just a force user that is obsessed with the Siths and wants the power and get-up to look dangerous and powerful.
I see Rey having more of a natural and easier time accepting the force. Maybe she is afraid to delve into the power and risks of it, but I would like to see her skills as a solitary survivor on Jakku hinting to us the that the force is within her but eventually be awakening; say in a fight with Kylo that awakens this power.

 

Luke didn't know he had the Force in him. Neither did Anakin or Ezra.

I believe MSW states that Rey uses the force on Jakku on purpose, so she knows she has it. I believe Finn will be the one to discover the force, and that he has it in this movie.

 

Lets see if anything FakingStarWars say is even true once the movie is released.
