And casting an actress who looks like you took Natalie Portman and Carrie Fisher and threw them in a blender together. Oh and all of the overt "Anakin and Luke on Tatooine" homages that her character seems to have.

 

Meh, I don't really think she looks like Carrie all that much. Natalie, I can see it (Though I don't think they look identical), but not Carrie.

 

Well, she isn't a clone.
But when I first saw her I was like PADME'S GRANDDAUGHTER!!!

 

She's close enough.

 

I actually never noticed any similarities between Adam Driver and Harrison Ford until now... Adam definitely has the same casual, silent swagger than young Harrison did.

As for Daisy, her facial structure and even eyebrows are 100% Natalie. She better be a Naberrie-Skywalker.

I Luke already has a lightsaber, his green one, he doesn't need the blue one so Rey can use it. Or Finn. I am willing to bet he has retrieved other blades from Vader and the Emperor's quarters on Coruscant assuming they kept trophies, which I expect they would.

 

We don't know if Luke still has the green lightsaber or not. Moreover the spoilers seem to indicate that Rey will return the Bespin lightsaber to Luke at the end of the film. It could be that Luke prefers the Bespin lightsaber over his one from RotJ for sentimental reasons.

You could be right too though, I won't argue that. We'll have to wait and see.

 

Not Star Wars related, but it looks like Daisy is going to appear in an English dub for Studio Ghibli's Only Yesterday (Oddly, despite being a big Ghibli fan, I've never seen it).

Now, is this a practical effect or CGI, I haven't heard them mention?....

I am still hoping that Rey is a Solo, and Finn is a Calrissian....so there will be a 2nd generation having adventures together.

 

I don't know if this has been noted before but I was looking at the interviews from Comic Con and something caught my attention; the way Daisy comments the light saber she got for the Star Wars concert: "I'm in green. Controversial." (this is what I hear her say).

English is not my first language so I might be just making this stuff up in my head. Does the word "controversial" in this case mean that she should not have a green saber but maybe...DUN DUN DUN...a red one??

I don't know. As I said maybe I'm just overanalyzing this one. Why can't it be December already...

 

She definitely uses the word "controversial." I took it to be kind of cheeky. She's saying, "oooh, look. Here's this thing for the hardcore fans to endlessly debate." The other side of the argument would be to suggest that she's got all kinds of crazy red lightsaber secrets, and I just don't think that's the case.

But you're right. It's interesting that she pointed that out. It doesn't mean that there's any insight into the film, but I wonder what caused her to say it was "controversial."

 

Her Jakku staff was made controversial by some people (not me), and asked about at the panel earlier that day. It could be a pun about that.

 

All this talk about grey and morality in "ether" and I started to think, that maybe traditional concept of Jedi will die with Luke (or maybe Finn). So far this polarisation of approaches to the Force ultimately was a curse for galaxy and resulted in ongoing conflict, wars and deaths.

Maybe Rey will be truly new kind of Force Wielder who combine Sith passion and activeness with Jedi compassion and resolve. Maybe, at the end Rey will "redeem" both Kylo and Finn, and convert them to this new approach.

Just thinking out loud.

 

I'm just hoping she gets the nonofficial title of "Lady Vader"
