I feel like Cillian Murphy makes a convincing "before" photo of Snoke:

With Rax having such strong ties to Palpatine and being the figure he is with the remnants of the Empire my guess is Snoke has him killed to make things less complicated if Rax is still alive when they regroup in the unknown regions.

    From the Empires End synopsis:

Instead of Rax being snoke, i'm starting to think this plan is somehow connected to snoke.

Ok so let's think about this for a moment.

Snoke can't possibly take over the Empire and create the First Order as supreme leader. How do/does anyone explain that? and have it be credible within how everything is developing?

The shadow council haven't even heard of Snoke and all of a sudden everyone is supposed to say " Oh yeah, let HIM be our leader"?

You'd need 3 more books just to develop Snoke's story, and they're already wasting that precious time on Gallius Rax.

The only way a scenario can be at all swallowed by the reader would be if, starting at the very beginning of Empire's End, we find out that- an introduced character named Snoke, is the one secretly giving orders and the master plan to Gallius Rax.

Gallius then introduces the grand architect in some way to the Empire. Rax dies at the Battle of Jakku, leaving Snoke no choice but to come out of the shadows and lead the remnants of the Empire.

But then you'd have to explain how all that damage was done to him, how he knows everything about Luke, Leia, Solo, Ben, how he gets close to Ben, in what looks like his damaged state, what transpired on the 2nd death star, etc..etc... I just don't see how it's at all possible.

There are no more books on the way before VIII and the revelations that film will give us.

Hidalgo already said we'd find out a lot more about how the First Order came about in Empire's End.

    I just don't see that 'Snoke-out-of-nowhere-scenario' happening.

haha, though, I can already see some of you saying to yourselves after the final reveal "Man, I can't wait to make this guy eat his words!" :) ;)

That's not a bad casting choice. Although he's human here, and well, Snoke is meant to be a Humanoid.

A humanoid by definition is something that resembles a human. Can also transform into a humanoid by evolution.

    Rax=Human (we think)
    Snoke=Humanoid (confirmed)

Does Rax go through a transformation (evolution) into a humanoid after being badly damaged?

How do you introduce Snoke and have him kill Rax to make things less complicated? that for me complicates things.

From a certain point of view.. ;)

The only problem I'm really having is Gallius' eyes, aren't they black? Or am I just imagining things..

Anyway, I think he's Snoke. Makes too much sense. Kylo has a Vader role by design of the FO structure, and is a great proxy as his grandson; who better to take the role of Supreme Leader/Emperor replacement than the Emperor's seemingly adopted son? Who he forces his love of robes and operas onto...

In a little less than a month we should hopefully have a clearer picture on the Rax is Snoke theory. I'm looking forward to Empire's End.

I can't wait. Have a feeling it ends with The Ravager crashing - upside down - onto Jakku, judging from TFA. The visual guide actually summarised a lot of that battle's tactics, surprisingly!

As someone with not a lot of time to read, I thought this covered a lot of ground not in the movies

Well, from the ending of "Empire's End" it is now obvious that Rae Sloane becomes Snoke. "What!" you say. "Sloane is dark-skinned and female, while Snoke is pale as death and seemingly male. A transgender, transracial transformation is impossible and preposterous."

    mj.jpg michael-jackson-mugshot.jpg

    Confirmed, Sloane is Snoke!

    SPOILERS BELOW' YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

    What. The. Hell. Was. That?

I have to say, Empire's End disappointed me. No, No, Don't go there, lol.. nothing to do with Rax's seemingly untimely demise.

The book felt rushed. It was boring and long at times, almost like Wendig had to much space to fill.

Anyways that being said..I also noticed Rax again was never described physically.

and surprisingly, going by the whole Snoke is old and has been through a lot. I genuinely believe that Rax still turns up as Snoke.

    He died?..hmmm..not so sure.

Holocrons, machines, sith remnants, dark side energy right where he seemingly died?...I still think a surprise is in order. Yet to see someone else be this guided by Palpatine, especially after all that is said in this book.

Snoke is from another Galaxy? again not so sure.

Sticks out for me....The type of respect Armitage Hux shows Snoke in The Force Awakens is akin to the amount of respect Rax showed Hux as he instilled in him at such a young age leader of the New order. Those highly trained assassin children.

That's why he remains general when Snoke is the supreme leader.

Imagine Rax comes back after seemingly dying, he automatically commands all the fear and respect.

Instills the new empire he wanted to, The First order. Easily.

Cool thing to read in this book...one of those assassin cold hearted children? Captain Phasma.

So is Rax Snoke? I still think so yes.

And seriously, If i had 100% belief that it wasn't? I would seriously have come out and said..haha guys I was wrong. My bad oh well....

But that isn't the case. :)
