You know going back to this. I would have imagined The Imperial facility destroyed during the Battle of Jakku, but Rey clearly writes the ''Dead-Enders are still guarding it'' way after the BOJ.

Are we going back to Jakku in Ep IX?

What are they guarding? as she puts it.

I definitely believe in some big reveals for ''Empire's End'' because the Title ''Empire's End and Birth of The First Order'' would have been too long, lol :)

Having read some excerpts of Brendol Hux's character, doesn't fit the description of Snoke. I hardly see them also having had a Father-Son moment on screen in The Force Awakens and not even hint at it.

Snoke yells at his son ''General!'' at one point, and saw nothing of any type of bond.

Yeah no way B Hux is Snoke. Snoke is an alien force sensitive, Hux was a human non force sensitive.

B Hux isn't Snoke IMO. If memory serves, Rae Sloane had to save him from being killed or captured by the Alliance. I don't think Snoke would have needed the assistance.

    I agree @singlern05.

I have numerous times gone over different possibilities of whom Snoke is, and I now have little doubt in my mind that it will turn out to be Galiius Rax.

And NO, Snoke cannot be just Snoke. No ****ing way the LF Story group were that stupid. Someone with such a crucial role, with no back story??? no way.

The only official new canon books explaining anything at the moment are Chuck Wendig's and Claudia Grays.

Gallius Rax is the only one being set up for the role of Supreme Leader.

1.What we know for sure is that he is a dark side user.
(Gallius Rax is the ONLY one in the new canon even remotely close to this, due to his exclusive friendship to Emperor Palpatine and guarding something on Jakku )

    2. We also know that he gets close to Leia and keeps a close eye on Ben Solo to eventually manipulate him to the dark side.
(Gallius Rax as the double agent 'The OPERATOR' the alliance gets info from, again, the only one in a position to eventually be trusted and get close)

    3.
We know he knows about what transpired between Vader, Luke and The Emperor and about how the alliance defeated the Empire.
(Gallius Rax is the only one in the new canon that was confirmed to be close to Palpatine before these events transpired)

    Snoke
    - Educated, manipulative, patient, and a master tactician.

Gallius Rax has been described as all of the above. Also why only connect him, Palpatine to Jakku? a place only introduced in the new canon for The Force Awakens.

Even the official Star Wars site has hinted at it.

So is Gallius Rax, Snoke? I believe so, yes. :)

    PS*-

The only way Gallius Rax is not Snoke? Would be that Snoke turns out to be a synthetic humanoid, created on Jakku at the secret Empire facility and was downloaded with Empire and sith dark side information.

    Sort of like in Westworld.

Oh yeah isn't JJ Abrams executive producer of that? lol...;)

I agree that Gallius' description matches Snoke's, but I think there's something more in this whole story. I'm inclined to think that this is a red herring.
There's a line that I think most people thought it was a random one but I read like it was a meta-joke. Rae says to her aide, Adea, about Gallius: "He's not a hologram".

And Snoke only appears in TFA as a hologram.

That's really what I'm saying. He is..and by far, the number 1 candidate to be Snoke :)
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 22, 2016, Original Post Date: Oct 22, 2016 ---
That line.. and this one is a wink in the books to Snoke, no doubt.

'That is how she feels whenever she meets him, as if she is meeting the hologram of a dead man made to pass as real.'

Another description of Gallius Rax by Sloane (a.k.a Captain Phasma?)

'There he stands, no longer garbed in an admiral's uniform but rather in a floor- length robe. Red as blood'

and finally Why I truly believe Gallius Rax is Snoke.

    What Sheev tells him.

"The second choice is, I give you a new life. A better one," Palpatine says. "I give you a task that, if you manage, will lead you to greater things. Not some thing so mundane as a job, but a role. A purpose. I sense in you potential. A destiny. Most people have no destiny,"
    upload_2016-10-21_23-4-6.png

''A purpose. I sense in you potential. A destiny.''..........Snoke is fulfilling that destiny.

and wouldn't it be cool if both Rey and Snoke (Gallius Rax) were both from the same place?

    Jakku.

We don't know Brendol isn't force sensitive and Snoke may be an alien about as much as Anakin was just more machine than man.

The idea of Rax being Snoke is definitely more plausible than Plagueis being him. I almost like this (Rax = Snoke) a bit better.

Makes you wonder if he could be Rey's father as well. Or at least have some connection to her family. It would be an odd coincidence for them both to come from Jakku.

Gallius Rax as Snoke sounds very plausible... which makes me wonder if this is a red-herring put out by Lucasfilm to divert our attention from the "real" snoke. Rax
    1) has direct ties to Palpatine from a young child
    2) is from Jakku
    3) has complete control of the Empire (using Sloane as a puppet)
    4) has a hidden stash of star destroyers out in the nebula in wild space

This fourth one is the most interesting in my opinion. For months I've heard rumors that Snoke origninated in wild space or regrouped and formed the first order in wild space. In essence, this new empire swallowed the new republic from the outside in (as opposed to inside out like Palpatine' empire, from Coruscant outwards.)

Well one thing is for sure. Since Lucasfilm story group doesn't believe in coincidences, there has to be a reason for this ;) Don't ask me why but I believe we will be heading back to Jakku in IX.
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 23, 2016, Original Post Date: Oct 23, 2016 ---
Those are many of the other reasons to suspect Rax as Snoke. Including the fact that Rax wants to breed kids to rebuild the Empire (reason he sends for Brendol Hux) and that is EXACTLY what the First Order does with Snoke as Supreme Leader and the illegitimate child of Brendol Hux, Armitage, as First Order General.

And let's not forget the most important child he went after.

    Ben Solo.

We know that the battle of Jakku was the final battle before the Empire retreated. The third Aftermath book appears to be going to cover this battle. It will be interesting to see what happens to Rax

That battle was also covered in Claudia Gray's Lost Stars, which is a fantastic book btw...and It will be interesting. The theory most plausible that I've come across is that the Ravager plunges head first into Jakku. If Rax and Sloane are both on it, could explain the state of Snoke with all the body trauma and facial disfigurements........as well as who is hidden underneath the Captain Phasma armor.

I can't wait to read that third Aftermath novel. True, it will probably leave us hanging and won't explain everything (that's why they're making two more Episode movies,) but it should be an enlightening read nonetheless.
