Isaac, Ridley, and Boyega agree: Star Wars is about family.

Ridley: [Also] about finding your place within a world that, like, Luke starts out and he has no idea what he's gonna end up. And because of what he does he becomes this kind of reverential man in the universe and it feels like that for us I guess.

Didn't Adam Driver say that the movie's themes are about family and betrayal? Why have those themes just to have none of the new cast members related to the the originals??

Also, I was thinking today that Rey seems to share similar traits to both Anakin and Luke, both who ended up being the focus of their respective trilogies.

Prequel's Focus: Anakin, who once lived a lowly life as a slave on a desert world.
Original's Focus: Luke, who once lived a lowly life as a farm hand on a desert world.
Sequel's Focus: Rey, who lives a lowly life as a scavenger on a desert world.

It seems to me that the producers choose the one character who has nothing and gives them everything they could possibly want: a wonderful life of adventure where the fate of the galaxy will rest on their shoulders.

I'm almost 100% for sure Rey is Han's daughter.

So am I. And I'm 100% hopeful that Rey will be the new trilogy's heroine.

On the other hand, is it abou family if everybody in skywalker bloodline doesn`t live with his family;)? why are they all somewhere else? Lukes family was maybe his friends? rey is maybe the only one with a father and mother alive and still they are apart?

I think she and Finn are the perfect duo to seek justice in the galaxy in this new trilogy.

Maybe at least she started in a low place being a scavenger not knowing she belongs to one most powerful families in the galaxy.

I've said it a couple times but I'll say it again. Finn is going to be a red herring type hero. The entire time everyone is going to think Finn is the central focus, he'll have the lightsaber and other such things. Think the first X-Men movie where everyone thinks Magneto is after Wolverine until it is revealed he is actually after Rogue.

But something happens, perhaps at the first duel between Kylo and Finn/Rey which reveals it was Rey all along and she gets captured. It could also be when she is revealed as a Solo/Skywalker. The guy who posted about the crossguard lightsaber and the snowy forest before anyone else says Rey was Han Solo's daughter 100% but that he had only seen that scene, so something in that scene reveals Rey's heritage. Perhaps Kylo has an evil speech where he dismisses Finn and reveals he is after the next Skywalker, Leia's daughter.

It's the First Order (Empire) flag superimposed over her face during the dissolve. Kubrick used this technique a lot to add subtext to his stories.

Ya but JJ is influenced more by Spielberg. Spielberg had a similar technique involving reflections though

Kubrick was a mentor to Spielberg, bigtime. Or at least Spielberg was a huge admirer of him.

I agree. I think early in the movie she is Rey the scavenger. It is likely the only way of life that she remembers. If she is a Solo/Skywalker, she doesn't know it and finds out about it later. The other possibility is that she is not a Solo/Skywalker and just a force sensitive scavenger who finds herself getting involved in the First Order/Resistance conflict when she ends up helping both B-8 and Finn

i think rey knows she is a solo and she is living on jakku by choice. i think something bad happens and she just wants to live alone, that is why she has the falcon, han gives it to her. the bad thing that happens probably has something to do why kylo, who i think is her older brotther. the idea of her not knowing who her real parents are is to much like luke and leia and i don't think j.j. would do that.

Most rumors seem to suggest they steal the Falcon which poses the question of why on Earth it ends up on Jakku if Han doesn't have it anymore?
