Most likely not. It's slowing down at a much faster rate than Avatar did.

If you assume a generous 30% week to day attrition, it should make $30 million domestically from January 21 to January 29. It is not going to make $90+ million internationally over the same time period.

Heard the storms are accounting for a 15% drop on all movies. So that does seem pretty good.

According to estimates from Box Office Mojo, TFA was the #1 movie again on Sunday, narrowly beating The Revenant ($3.99M vs. $3.88M). TFA made an estimated $14.2M over the weekend.

Analysis of domestic week five (January 15-21):

TFA posted a $39.1 million week, third most for a fifth week in movie history. This is twenty seven million behind Avatar, and a three and a half million behind Titanic. It had week to day drops between 27 and 43 percent (with one exception, a bump for MLK day); it did not obtain any daily records.

The fifth week saw TFA's first drop in theater screens, from 4134 to 3822, a drop of 312. Next week, it will be in 769 fewer theater screens that it was its first week, down 19 percent overall.

It is still on an Avengers/JW trajectory, but it is always possible that could change.

Future projection, revised to include this week's results:

If TFA goes to a 30% week to day drop, it will hit $930 million domestic in week ten and finish somewhere around $945-950 million.
If TFA goes to a 40% week to day drop, it will hit $910 million domestic in week ten and finish somewhere around $915-920 million.
If TFA goes to a 50% week to day drop, it will finish around $900 million.

if it goes to an Avatar/Titanic trajectory and starts showing stronger legs, then this could happen:

If TFA goes to a 10% week to day drop, it will hit $1 billion somewhere near week eleven, and finish around $1.2 billion.
If TFA goes to a 20% week to day drop, it will finish somewhere around $1 billion.
