What's ironic is that those same people are gonna see the next one that comes out to.

I don't really feel the performances of other movies will affect KK in any way. TLJ had great BO numbers and positive reviews. It stands on its on. Will there be movies that perform better, sure! It doesn't take away from TLJ or LF in anyway. Titanic was a great movie, had good reviews, did well in the boxoffice. Has it been surpased? sure... does it make it a bad movie just because it has? No.... just as other movies doing well in the BO will not affect KK or LF. Each movies stands on its own.

I still don't understand fans who actively want the ST to fail just because a movie didn't go they way they wanted.

I'm sure the captain of the Exxon Valdez had a stellar career too, before he got drunk and ran it aground.

When you mess up to this magnitude, it doesn't matter what you've made before. Just gtfo.

Oh.. I don't either.. and not because TLJ had horrible box office numbers and was underwater on reviews(47% Rotten Tomatoes score). She's a woman and given the politics of removing her, the last dog will be hung before they allow her to fail.

    FWIW...
Hmmm... comparing the most profitable film of 2017 to the Exxon Valdez disaster is a bold strategy.

Because pissing off the audience and shedding $800 million from its direct predecessor is the way to go.

I mean, the movie itself was taken down by a second-tier Marvel Movie released two months later in the dead of winter, and IW is now showing what real performance of a top-flight product looks like.

Frame the numbers as you like to try to excuse this mess for fanboy reasons. This isn't going to end the way you think.

    About those fans...

There's simply no evidence to support a major fan uprising other than some easy to manipulate online poll.

    LOL TWITTER HAAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA.

If you didn't like the film, the odds you follow some crappy news site(and really.. its probably just some fanboy with an account, right?) on Twitter about it is slim to none. I had never even heard of this Star Wars News Net, and likely never will again.

And I've always said that the tale of the tape will be the performance for both Solo and Episode 9. Anything except for direct numbers from those movies is just opinion either way.

Star Wars News Net? LOL HAHAHAHAHA... i never even looked at the full URL for this site. It was always just The Cantina. OK HAHHAAHH that's Classic.

But that should show you.. had absolutely no idea that was its name, much less had some Twitter feed.

Really.. this is legit the funniest thing to me today.

As a heart attack. Had no idea HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. It was always just 'The Cantina'. Who reads URL's anymore?

I would like to rate your post as "Great Post", but I can't yet. You really summarized the situation. The "Star Wars power" is weakening (and no, fatigue is not an excuse these days), and Lucas Film is not really doing anything to change it. I could be wrong, but they seen to not be aware of it. See TFA's record be broken in 2 years already, makes me worried. Everyone used to say that no one could compare TLJ with TFA because this one was a beast that would never happen again. Well, it looks like more beasts are appearing, and I wouldn't be surprised if we never see a Star Wars movie as the #1 of the year anymore, especially Worldwide. I still have high hopes for ep IX, but something has to change, otherwise I doubt that the brand could recover from another hit.

This idea that if another film does well it's a strike against Star Wars is bizarre. Where does this come from?

And honestly.. after seeing Infinity War, the Avengers next year may well top it. They're setup perfect with Captain Marvel being the curtain-jerker next March to setup the conclusion to IW next May.. in the same way that BP was for this film.

Marvel is really on its game and this entire run of films will likely be considered a golden era for them. And that didn't just happen by chance.

It just shows that with TLJ, SW can't compete with the top films. I'm sure we'll get more movies, but they'll be run-of-the-mill releases. What made Star Wars special and above the rest, is gone. Thanks Kathleen Kennedy.

I like Marvel, I like Lord of the Rings, and I like Star Wars. This isn't a competition.

Of course not. We only post in this thread about every last detail of the financial performance(usually in comparison to other films) of Star Wars for funsies.

Whether you like it or not, Star Wars fans have always staked a lot of their ego around the financial performance of the franchise, particularly in being #1. Its been that way since '77.

Never took note of a 'SWNN' lol. I'm sure I've probably seen it before, but it meant nothing to me.

I never thought of this place as anything other than 'The Cantina'.
