I thought that the episode was quite strong, maybe not as much as the previous one though. Perhaps I'm just not used to an episode in which a small group of our protagonists encounter some formidable opponents. The reveal of the inquisitors was handled very well, but the Seventh Sister was the only one who really got any major character development, and her flirting with Ezra was just kind of awkward (how much older is she than him?). I wished that they could've elaborated on the relationship between the two inquisitors more. Obviously we learned that it's a competitive one rather than familial. Which really comes as no surprise from a couple of dark side users. Although, it is true that they're not telling us much about the inquisitors so we can continue to ask questions like how many are there and who leads them now that the Grand Inquisitor is gone.

The episode felt very much like a Halloween special to me. What with the general darkness and ominousness of the abandoned station. It very much felt like the dark hallway roaming scenes of Alien and Dead Space, replacing huge monster aliens trying to rip your arms off with lightsaber-yielding aliens. Definitely towards the end of the episode, we became more aware of the Inquisitors' incompetence, so that rather mitigated their sense of dark power from earlier. The audience of course knew that our heroes would escape, but I thought that their escape was just a little too easy and fast.

In the Coruscant Nights books there was plenty. Which is also interesting because Jax Pavan the Jedi in that book seems a lot like Kanan.

Filloni has said, as well as a few members of the Story Group that even though the EU is no longer canon, fans would not be off base to expect to see some EU elements in the new canon of Star Wars stories. The Inquisitors is an excellent example of that. We'll probably see more of this throughout Rebels I think.

I don't think it is, Sabine was only 15 in season 1. She is only 1 year older than Ezra.

Really,..? She looks older and I thought she attended the academy on Mandolore which I though would put her at at least 18-19

I saw it last night and really liked it. In fact, I've really liked every episode this season so far. I wasn't really a fan of the show last season. As with the PT, I WANTED to like it, and I'd find elements there that I did like, but overall I just found the whole thing to be kind of a near miss for me. It seemed like they were leaning WAY too hard on the tired old "goofy sitcom family" thing last season, and the whole thing didn't really start picking up for me until about the end of the season.

This season, though, feels a lot more like what I'd originally been hoping for. This episode in particular really hit the spot. Yeah, it was definitely the SW equivalent of a "Halloween special", but I thought they did a great job of blending the inherent creepiness of an abandoned med station, spidery little probe droids and Inquisitors with just the right amount of humor and action. Several nicely done moments of suspense woven in there too.

And I've gotta say, I dig having grizzled old Rex in the mix now too. They need to get Kanan past this "petulant teenager" thing, though. I get it, he doesn't trust clones and he's got a chip on his shoulder about what happened to his master. But a little of this has gone a long way already, and I hope that in the next episode or two Kanan finally has his moment of illumination and blasts his way through this.

The rest of the characters have developed well. I don't even mind "Pinky Fett" so much anymore. And of course, the fact that the Ghost crew is now so closely tied to the Rebellion as a whole, rather than just scrapping their way along out on the fringes, gives the whole story a lot more weight and energy.

Looking forward to the next episode!

    Great episode!
I love the feel of the old derelict medical station and Zeb's rescue of Ezra and Sabine was great! I'm a fan of the inquisitors and am looking forward to learning more about them.

Also, the back and forth between Rex and Kanan is pretty great :)

I agree, it was a good solid episode! It seems like season two is building up at a steady solid pace. My one gripe about the episode is why would Ezra, Chopper, Zeb and Sabine be sent on a mission for medial supplies while Kanan stayed behind to play Dejarik with Rex? Not to mention, Hera did absolutely nothing in the episode? Couldn't they have been doing something useful like at least having one brief scene when they were discussing possible places to look for a base or how to repair the fleet after it was recently nearly destroyed completely by Vader? I don't know it just seemed like a poor way to show Kanan's distrust for Rex when it could have been shown in a way that seemed to move the story along a little bit further such as ending the episode with Rex and Kanan agreeing that the Ghost Crew should look into (insert planet) as a potential base after arguing back and forth the entire episode etc.

The started in the old west end games RPG. In an era with no jedi, you need an enemy for your force sensitive characters to fight. They played a big role in the comics, and many book dark jedi were were former inquisitors or retconned to be former inquisitors, such as Jarec,

In spark of rebellion there is a scene where Ezra mans the turret and Sabine bumps him off it and says "out of my way kid" and Ezra replies, "what? you are only a year older than me".

note, approximate quotes coming from my memory.

I'm the opposite of you. I think they should've made a bigger deal of it. How would you feel if an army of identical men killed everyone from your religion, and tried to kill you?

This is a phenomenal point. I didn't pick up on this while watching it, but they really should've had Kanan and Hera doing something time critical.

Yeah, I see your point too, and maybe the problem is more the way they're going about it.

I was actually thinking about this just a little bit ago when I read the article about Freddie Prinze Jr., where he mentions having had an uncle with PTSD from having been in Vietnam and how he tries to use that for his reading of Kanan's lines. I think that the writers are soft-pedaling the whole thing a bit too much. I completely understand why - this is a cartoon on a children's network. But to me Kanan's PTSD is coming across more like he's a bitchy post-adolescent than a shell-shocked veteran. IMHO, they need to either take the risk and dive into it fully, or they need to find a way for Kanan to get past it.

I tend to agree with you, though. I think it'd work a lot better if they'd just go in full-throttle with it.

I love that they show Kanan's moody side, it shows that he is human with the range of complex emotions, plus it also shows proof that his Jedi training was cut short. I love that Hera is his emotional crutch. I hope we start seeing more of the women of this crew and their vulnerabilities. It's great that Hera and Sabine are strong, intelligent and skilled, but I am sure that they too will have days where being Rebel up against the Empire will wear on them.

Part of what excites me the most about this season is A) It's longer than Season 1, and B) We have been promised episodes and story arcs that focus almost exclusively on Sabine and Hera. Sabine has been fairly central to the goings on thus far, which is good, but Hera has been massively neglected, something that should change with the upcoming B-Wing episode.

Of course, what I would be really curious to see is an episode delving into Ahsoka, and what she's been up to for the past decade and a half...
