In all honesty, I haven't noticed it until it was pointed out to me...with or without it...that preatorian guards fight was the best thing of TLJ for me. It was a real fight. I loved the burning of the red shroud as the scene progressed.
I would say these two they make a really good team in a fight, kind of completing each other.

I think Rey is going to do like she has done with pretty much everything else that has happened between her and Kylo Ren--she's going to keep it to herself and not tell anyone the whole story. How is she going to explain how she mailed herself into enemy territory to Snoke's ship? How is she going to explain how she worked together with the Supreme Leader himself to depose the previous one? I would like to know what she told Leia about how the lightsaber mysteriously broke, but maybe Leia knew better than to ask too many questions.

I find very interesting the fact that there hasn't been enough time for Rey to really communicate with the Resistance, not even with Finn!!! How is that the person that knows best our hero, is actually the villain :'0

    I'd be down for that.

With the Resistance basically needing more members if they wanted to form a small tennis tournament, we're going to need some way to have that "war to end all wars" Boyega talked about.

With the First Order apparently having conquered most of the galaxy (which I really still haven't gotten that impression from the movies, but apparently it's canon) I guess a Civil War would be an interesting way to cap off the trilogy. Stormtroopers are, strangely, kind of the face of Star Wars, so it would be pretty cool to have some that are good guys- and not even of the clone variety.

I guess they’re in control by default? They destroyed the New Republic and decimated the Resistance, so now they’re the only authority left. They haven’t technically conquered everybody yet, but it’s a forgone conclusion they will. So if there’s a time-skip, they’d probably just start there.
Yeah, a face-turned trooper is one of the truly unique elements that TFA introduced. It would be a shame if that idea isn’t revisited at some point.

Yeah, I don't want to veer too off course, but that's the vibe I always get from the movies: the Resistance is small, but the First Order is also relatively small, two tired armies standing in the ashes of greater wars.

Apparently that's not the case, though. From what I've heard it seems like the FO is actually pretty widespread. They were apparently making big moves against the core worlds during the events of The Last Jedi.

I guess it all hearkens back to one of my biggest complaints against the movie: its depiction of scale.

During the collection of hours the movie takes place over? Now that's efficiency! :D Good luck filling those (certainly) icky shoes, Kylo.

For me this now stands at the greatest moment in Star Wars. Then entire scene is a masterpiece. Ultimately these are the moments that stick out in Star Wars. The shock of Snoke dying under the weight of his own hubris. Rey having her heartbroken when Ben embraces Kylo Ren.

I yelled when I saw this in the theater for the first time.
    The Republic>The Empire>New Republic>First Order

That's my understanding of things. Each one is smaller than the other. The First Order problem controls the core worlds, but their reach should be much smaller than the Empire.

When I first saw this scene, something was always off. It is not only the action, but mainly the whole location of the throne room, it just looks fake. The action scene looks more like from a stunt show, with this burning at the wall. Also how Rey got this scar looked strange and more like to show now it is a little real.

I knew you wouldn't take Rey Random very well, but even I'm surprised at how much it poisoned Star Wars for you. Do you have anything positive to say or are you just here to rain on everyone's parade?

There are threads for you to spread your negativity. This thread is full of people who love a fantastic scene. Does it make you feel better to spread the misery around? I have to admit I've frequented this forum less the past couple of weeks because there's a handful of people who are relentless in their negativity.

Rey Random was not the main reason why I dislike TLJ. No need to get personal, I just wrote how I perceived this scene. If you don't like my posts, so just ignore me.

But don't worry, this was the only thing I have to say about this scene and it was just my initial reaction. That's all.

This interesting thing for me about this scene is that, despite, being disappointed with the film, I really liked it. It's the directorial style and the aesthetic/visual effect was very good. It was well choreographed and filmed. I'll give RJ that.

@DailyPlunge , I don't agree that it's the greatest scene in Star Wars, but it's a good one.

This will probably earn me some dislikes but I didn't like the Throne Room fight.

First, all the tension died with Snoke. We didn't know if Rey would turn Dark or if Kylo would turn Light. We didn't know how it would end. But once Snoke was half the man he was (sorry) there was zero chance the reds would kill either Rey or Kylo. It felt like nothing important was at stake.

Second, the way the reds waited around, waving their weapons in the air until it was their turn to step in and get killed reminded me of extras in a bad kung-fu movie. Which is ironic because I love bad kung-fu movies, but it just didn't work for me in TLJ.

Finally, the fight just lasted too long. The reds attacked in ones and twos instead of en masse which would have given them a much better chance. Their attacks were uncoordinated with one another. They didn't fight as a unit.

The finishing move Kylo did with Rey's lightsaber was awesome, but the whole fight scene felt unnecessary, anticlimactic, and too long.

Do you not like any of Obi-Wan's duels in the PT because we know he survives them all?

    Fair question.

I think of it a little bit differently than that, though. Sure, Obi-Wan vs. Grevious was great. But Obi-Wan vs. battle droids didn't really matter to the story. If they had tacked on a fight with a few more battle droids after Grevious died of acute heartburn I probably would have felt the same way I did about the Throne Room fight.

    I hope that makes sense.

Even though the lightsaber posture doesn't make much sense, I would've liked to see this in the movie.

Greatest moment in TLJ, and of the greatest moments in all of the saga films for me.
When Kylo ignited the lightsaber and cut Snoke in half, I remember that i jumped a little in my seat in cinema and had a big smile through the whole fight.

Imagine this: Throne room fight with Duel Of Fates song. EPIC. :D
I just hope somebody will edit the scene with that music.
