We would need to do realy complex math to explain Rey's Force powers if she would be child of those 2 commoners.
I approve wild imagination though.

But again, how to explain Rey's parents to us old fossils who don't play video games anymore,..almost.

The amount of people who don't want this to happen is pretty staggering. Like I was on Twitter earlier and people were literally throwing fits.

I have no stake in who she is. I don't really care. I just see reoccurring patterns with Lucasfilm. They troll a lot. But if they can make it work and fit. Well why not but I some how doubt it.

 

We won't get any significant reveals from a video game, not a chance. Its clear from Disney's actions/promotion that they want us going into the theatre knowing diddly p*as about what is going to happen.

It's more misdirection and another reason for the writers to keep laughing their ass off till release day.

I think we, (or at least I) underestimate the number of people who desperately want Rey to be a Skywalker/Solo, especially the casuals. When I was reading through a lot of the tweets I could tell that they haven't played the campaign or really know about any of the possible evidence. They probably just saw the headline and were like, "Ew I don't want them to be Rey's parents". I even saw a few tweets saying something along the lines of, "This isn't possible. She has the force so she has to be either Luke or Leia's kid." Which made me wonder just how many people also think that. I think there's a large portion of the audience who haven't even given thought to the idea of "Random Rey" and just think that she MUST be either Luke or Leia's daughter.

The idea that she could be Iden's daughter fascinates me though, much more than many of the other theories out there. The leaked info for the DLC doesn't look promising for it, but who knows? Maybe we're getting bamboozled and that info isn't entirely legit.

 

Marely to put on list of ReyLo screenwrite attempts, certainly not for Oscar.

That is so sad. I Don't know what to say. I'm confused by it all. It's like when people ask for change and when they get it they don't want it. Everything has to move on eventually. Nothing ever stays the same. We need to accept change and also learn that change is good. No matter of how scary it is.

 

Honestly, Im pretty meh about it myself. Doesn't bother me either way as long as it is good in the story. Of course, I think many, including myself would cheer we found out Luke finally had a child, even if he didn't know about her. I think when some want it so bad though, they start to see it in everything, such as books, video games, etc even if the tidbit is very minute and could have many possibilities.

With as tight as they have been on details with TLJ, I personally don't think they are going to reveal who her parents are in a side medium, if they reveal an specifics at all. They may have never intended for it to be a big deal WHO her parents are, Just the fact she was unfortunately left at such a young age and has had this great yearning to have a family and to fit in some where for most of her life. Not to just be this lone scavenger. This could give her internal conflict between a legend she seeks help from but turns out not being what she except and quite frankly not wanting her there and an unexpected side (kylo and/or Snoke) who actually want her but definitely are not the right group to follow.

 

Just wondering. Is it confirmed it actually takes place 30 years later? 30 years after the Battle of Jakku would put us literally at the doorstep of TFA (if not in the living room but whatever)... Meeko tells Kylo that LST took the map to Bayora, is it possible he was lying? If that mission takes place THAT close to TFA on the timeline, wouldn't LST already be on Jakku? I'm not sure if there's anything in canon that tells us exactly how long LST was on Jakku but his Wookiepedia page says he settled on Jakku after retiring which suggests he's been there at least a while. It's not like he just finished moving in and then got sliced up.
