Just came across this myself and thought the same thing. It makes out that Han and Luke "left" before Ben was born?
I don't get it. Left where? I mean, Han was around and with Leia until well after Ben was born right? And where had Luke gone?

Luke continues to swear that, with time, she will come to feel the Force just as he does. He explained that it was how she felt his pain back during Cloud City—him hanging there, wearied and beaten and about to fall into the roiling clouds below. He said he’d teach her.

And he did teach her. Some things, at least.

    Then? He left.

    Just like Han left.

    Weird.

Edit: Unless Luke did leave because he was focusing on being a Jedi are foregoing his familial relationships ;)

Yes to why Luke left; Han left because of his life debt to Chewy (see book title)--felt he owed it to him to help enslaved Kashyyyk. Leia is angry with Han because she's thinking her kid could end up without a father. (This is boiling it down a lot. You gotta read the book! ;))

Lotus is symbolic of that as well, and of enlightenment.

I believe its there. I don't buy for a second that Han and Leia had the kind of connection to Ben would lead to them naming their son after him. They "sevened" Lukes name.

Unless he left with his wife and daughter Rey ;)

Leia was pregnant with Ben 10 years before Rey was born ;)

I just don't get where Leia said that Luke has gone at this point...?
Thanks to @Choose Light for the info on Han.

In the Aftermath excerpt in the article, Leia is meditating while pregnant, and has her revelation... but look below at what I have underlined and bolded:
And @master_shaitan's quote above references Luke leaving, again, along with Han:

    Very interesting indeed.

    Han apparently goes to Kashyyk.
I have a feeling Luke is off on his Force tree hunting missions. Maybe gone to Jakku. Leia obviously left alone.

    You're welcome.

Guys, it's all in the Aftermath: Life Debt book! The "loss of Luke" thing is in the context of "losing" Han--both of them left Leia alone to go and do their own things, so she herself is the one who feels loss, in terms of their company/interaction/relational connection. That's the context, so I think it would be pushing it to read it as Luke lost something himself. It's been awhile since I read the book, but IIRC, it's implied that Luke had gone off to do super-cool Jedi stuff, probably hunting Force/Jedi artifacts.

While I never really fell for this theory (mainly because Adam Driver looks a little too much like Han and Leia), I always thought it was interesting and I think it would have been cool if it were the case, especially if Rey turned out to be Luke's second kid and Kylo's sister. But of course the book about Leia - Bloodlines - came out and kinda debunked it. Sorry :(
