I just had an idea. If this true, and Luke kills or seriously wounded Kylo, then Leia (the mother) could be the one turning to the Dark Side (as stated by her dad in ROTJ)....then in 8 and 9 we could see Luke be the good and Leia the bad....with an more interesting plot of Empire with Gleeson turning to be good and Rebels with bad Leia being the bad..... I know it sounds crazy another possibility - Rey being sister or love interest of Adam Driver, and when things go wrong she turns to the dark side....well, this sounds even more crazy

This is 100% mirroring PT.. Kylo Ren is Darth Maul, Plagueis is Sidious, the true apprentice he wants is........Rey? Sounds tooo "we´we seen all this before.....I don´t know.....

Not that I don't like your idea but I doubt that Carrie Fisher has much screen time.
The ST is all about handing over the torch, that is why I guess that none OT character will have large screen time or to be heavily involved in the main quest.

 

Hopefuly you are right my friend. Who would be the one to turn to the dark side then, being killed Kylo Ren? (of course, if all this true..)

 

This is funny, because I don't want to be right.
I would really like to see the OT characters heavily involved in the upcoming movies but I doubt that it will happen.
Your question about who gets killed, if Rey is a Solo child then it would make sense to kill her mom or dad.
To generate emotions and some kind of anger/hatred effect on her.
I have the gut feeling that Kylo Ren is a pawn like Darth Maul/Count Dooku to trick the real wanted pupil into service.

 

I hope your gut is wrong because that was overplayed in the PT and would be even more so in the ST. I hope Kylo is a legitimate villain and not a pawn.

 

I completely agree. Plus, making Kylo a Solo creates so much fresh opportunity, it would be a shame to waste it in the first film. I'd rather Kylo remain throughout the trilogy and then die in a meaningful way in IX.

 

In the PT we have just had the Annakin story, Why do the exact same story again. Not that I don't want a female sith, in fact I would love it but why re-do the last film when its still fresh in our memories.

 

I hope that I'am wrong too, I absorb too much rumors lately.
All this floating stuff around the net is painting this picture in my mind.
Maybe JJ did what George Lucas once mentioned about poetry and mirror the stories. (I hope he did not)

I wouldn't mind the structure of Anakin's story, but if Kylo turns to the Dark Side, there should be an original reason for doing so. Personally, it would be cool to see him training under Plagueis, since the said villain has powers which surpass anything we've ever seen. Kylo could actually get to learn these powers and have an almost legitimate reason for doing so, blurring the lines between "what is morally right and what is not".

 

Repeating aspects from the PT would not be a good idea

Seriously, I think whoever "Uber" is will have some pretty big powers like you suggest.

 

The same powers as Plagueis?

 

Take star trek JJ took the best villain and used it. So I think the same idea goes for star wars, I think Vader will make a cameo in a flashback scene, but I think Plagueis is the Khan effect.

 

I liked that Abrams wanted to use Khan as the villain, but it bothered me that he cast Benedict Cumberbatch in the role. The whole time I was watching the movie, I just kept thinking to myself how much Cumberbatch looks absolutely nothing like Ricardo Montalbán; and on top of that, Khan is supposed to be an Indian guy! Montalbán, though not Indian, was at least dark and had an ethnic look about him, but Cumberbatch just looks like some British guy. I think the movie would have worked better if Abrams had instead considered a Bollywood actor for the part of Khan. Khan is an Indian character, so let's see an actual Indian in the role!
