If you don't like the marketing and don't want to buy the toys until you see another trailer that's totally fine. But starting a thread and encouraging others to do the same as some sort of punishment to Disney is flat out childish.

Childish is defending a company that plans to rake in millions from consumers while not treating them with the same care as they treat consumers from other franchises. I agree that we should hold off from buying TFA merchandise until a proper trailer has dropped. I was hoping to get some t-shirts, BattleFront and a couple other things, but if Disney considers that we can wait for a trailer (which is already overdue), then they can wait for our money.

    There's this as well.

Consumer demands should dictate reactions. Consumer submission leads to consumer mistreatment.

You're wrong. You go into a store, and if you don't like what's there you ask for something better, and if the store won't comply you don't buy. After enough of these incidents, the store catches on and eventually course corrects. This is how markets evolve.

So, if we do get a trailer..say next Tuesday (Sept. 1st) does this change EVERYTHING for you..... I can feel it swell within you........LOL. You're taking this too serious bro. My gut (it's getting bigger every Trilogy) tells me, ..............we get a trailer NEXT TUESDAY, the 1st of September, I am calling it now !!! If not, no big deal, I will pick up some 6" Black series figs, look at some merchandise, maybe meet up with fans from previous midnight releases......and go back to sleep, dreaming of a new trailer of course. :D:p

This might actually be the source of the problem, and not actually the trailer. None of the upcoming TFA toys seem to stand on their own. All the main characters action figures look like generic Star Wars toys. The toy explosion in sales will probably occur when the film is released.

He/ She/ It's/ They're right... Boycott all Star Wars Force Awakens products, merch and movies.. how dare they peddle all this soulless consumerism and product onto us and price gauge us all and not give us a trailer, beside it's a total rehash of the earlier scrapped and inferior drafts of A New Hope scripts with some more modern day PC ideas added in, and the original ANH story was an amalgam of Dune and Seven Samurai and the Hero's Journey Myth / Monomyth and WW2 dogfights anyways which lazily relies on tired space nazi and Cold War WMD tropes to drive the plot and it's all a cash grab to sell ewoks and gungans and Teedos and Luggabeasts and other toys to children and the climax is waving around swords made of some impossible physics defying energy beam that somehow self-contains itself and can deflect laser beams that should technically be being shot at the speed of light which makes no sense and the whole thing is just taking a dump on actual physics and science and... Just kidding, Star Wars kicks ass, Ewoks kick ass, watching Return the Jedi right now in French and it owns.

As do I. I find the timing very odd with a ,another merchandising push on before even a full trailer. Seems Disney maybe looking to recoup money on its investment in full and early. Waiting to me is the best bet, at least the the otherwise worthless pieces of plastic might be imbued with some value after the trailer and maybe even until the movie itself.

Agreed. They want people to put out money for toys without even giving fans a trailer to inform the fans of some of the story.

Besides, how can you buy toys without knowing what characters you're buying (In the case of people not reading the internet news) and perhaps not seeing the last trailers.

Agreed. And I really want to see Luke, Leia, and Han dolls as they are now, not younger ones.
