You can post whatever you want about comic writers so long as it doesn't violate forum policy.

The issue in the exchange I referenced was the personal attacks on fellow forum members. Not the opinions .

Well that's good to know, because for a hot second it looked like you going to bat for Jimmy 8-bucks. Thanks for clarifying that.

The thing that nobody accusing Snyder of being an edgelord realizes is that the MPAA decides on ratings, not directors, and they're notoriously fickle about how they implement ratings based on the kind of content that's actually in the movie. These are the same people who consider it acceptable to say "f***" twice in a PG-13 movie, but anything more than that and you're automatically given an R rating, even if the rest of the movie is appropriate for a wider audience (Boyhood, for instance, should be PG-13 in a sane world).

I think the story goes that WB were surprised that the movie got an R-rating tacked onto it like they were with the extended cut for the last Hobbit movie. I can tell you that Suicide Squad was a lot closer to an R-rated movie in terms of overall content than any of the stuff that was added to the Ultimate Cut, which I should stress they did not create with the intention of it being R-rated.

You don't have to watch the R Rated cut to get the sense that Snyder is an "Edge Lord". Just watch literally any of his movies(other than possibly the cartoon owl one, haven't seen it to judge) or read some of his interviews. In particular, just look at how he chose to portray Batman in BvS, regardless of the cut. The proof is in the pudding my friend, the pudding in this case being Mr Snyder's filmography thus far.

I'm well aware of how silly the MPAA can be in regards to ratings, but that is a very minor part of the issues that someone like Snyder setting the tone for the DCEU represents.

As far as Suicide Squad goes, I have no real opinion on that film at this point in time, as I haven't seen it yet(I finally saw the new Star Trek yesterday, I'm pretty behind in my blockbuster viewing at the moment) and I would prefer to avoid giving opinions until I can give an informed one(although the Hot Topic style that the Joker is sporting doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, especially the stupid looking "Damaged" tattoo on his forehead). At this point, critics that I respect seem to have some pretty mixed opinions on the film, so the jury is out on how much I'll like it.

It's officially R-rated but it shouldn't be. There's just a little bit more gore, swearing and a shot of Affleck's butt.

I would say that's a good bet, but the real burning question is whether or not he'll return with a mullet ;).

Also, considering Zack Snyder's preference for heavy handed Jesus symbolism, I'm calling it now. Superman will rise from the grave after three days.

Hasn't it been confirmed Superman has been 'dead' for months by the time of Justice League?

Technically, but I wouldn't put it past Snyder to have him secretly rise after three days and find someplace secluded to recover. Don't underestimate how much Snyder loves his Messiah symbolism ;).

Well he's playing it safe making sure those close are always supportive of his decisions, anyway I only focus on a movie being great, if it sucks we know now that it was a family fault

Indeed, sound like any other director we might be familiar with on these forums? Like, say, George Lucas while he was making the Prequels. I think we all know how that turned out ;).

Disagree, Lucas actually wanted Spielberg and Kasdan to be involved in the prequel trilogy. They would not have been afraid to challenge his ideas. Some would say KOTCS would prove otherwise, but they have forgotten that the film was in development hell for like 4-5 years.
