Tid and I agree on the masked man idea, we both came up with it pretty quickly after the leak but he gets a lot more credit in my book for posting it ages before I did though.

We just disagree on the purpose of the mask and the man being masked.

I say the mask is part of a disguise used by Adam Driver allowing him to do evil but still move effortlessly in both Imperial and Republic circles because of his wealth, connections, and general cleverness.

Force reach time: Batman witnessed the murder of his parents. That turned him into a crime fighter/avenger... someone who takes the law into his own hands. Might this apply to one of the Solo or Skywalker kids in the sequel trilogy? Seems to be a given that Solo will die, but what if Leia does as well? That might be what this DK reference by Devin is hinting at?

I can guarantee you that this image is fake and has nothing to do with Episode VII.

Are you saying, Luke may have had to shank a guy or two in the big house or he had to take a shank or two?

Viral no disrespect intended, I keep seeing this across the fandom between sites and podcasts. Unless you can give up your sources you cannot debunk anything from anyone. For example when Jason Ward (MSW) was reporting Inquisitors, Eric Gellar (TFN) was reporting that he has debunked Inquisitors because his source says so, with no further information. I believe this Guarenteing or Debunking is a serious inquiry that needs to be backed up with sources and or facts. I would rather see something in the nature of, "My sources don't support the information that Jason or Kyle is presenting." Because your source may not be wrong or intentionally misleading, however they may not have all the information or that information has morphed into something different. We also have the fact that the sources may not be SW encyclopedias that understand the lore whether it be Canon or Legands and may not have proper skills to identify or portray the information accurately to you. If Dave Filioni told me that Inquisitors are in Ep7 than I would say I can Guarantee they are or vise versa because he is involved in the story group but joe production assistant may not understand what he is looking at.

No problem. You have the full right to believe what you want. Rarely I do such statements as above. Only when I'm absolutely sure. That image and the guy who posted it was a complete fraud. I will not say his name again. ;)
    Take it as you like.

I think the images are from a cancelled videogame.

I am not saying I don't believe you, I am saying for the sake of not turning into a "I Know More Than You Match" it would probably be more effective to simply state that your source doesn't agree with said information as apposed to saying I can guarantee you are wrong. Simply because in protection of your source you can not reveal why that information may or may not be a fact. Being that your source may call it a frankfurter as apposed to your source who calls it a hotdog. Both may be correct from a certain point of view.

This one hundred percent. There have been too many sources saying Driver is the bad guy to ignore it and a mask is the best way to hide your identity. My one hope is that he is one of the villains for the entire trilogy. I think the worst thing the prequels did was have a one off villain in the first one. Make Darth Maul Darth Tyranus with a mask on and have Count Dooku leave the order after the battle of Naboo and boom more menaces being Phantoms.

Agree on how several throw away villains are such a fail in the long wrong. If the plan is to introduce a new big baddie, and I mean entirely new, not some person wearing Darth's get-up (which is a cop out, though they may do this in 7 then unmask and have the baddie in his or her true form in 8 and 9.) then they need to be seen, heard, or felt across all three. My concerns with the design of an all-new character:

    1. Vader like costumes. Seems like the low hanging fruit. Overall may feel cheap and entirely expected.

    2. Old evil embodied type. Another tired ass trope. We already had a pruney emperor. The last thing I want to see is a Voldemort looking thing.

That's why I'm hoping they steer clear of the above, or if they go there, we at least get a new gender in that trope. Lady Vader would be far more interesting than Darth Tenacious with a Samurai helmet and saber.

Perhaps an alien bad guy? A Thrawn like figure. Our new major villain needs to be iconic as hell yet not steal too much from what came before.

Join the conversation! What do you guys envision for a new main villain?

Maybe Gleeson is Luke's son and is told about his grandfather Anakin and how he became Vader and is now obsessed with his ancestry. He then rebels against his father and becomes an entity of his own trying to be more than Vader was or his father.

Finally some Show don't tell. Looks sick, a bit overly sexualized which would likely be toned down (that's a comic image etc.)

You thinking that's Lupita? Furthermore is that a turned Ashoka? Luke failed in training her and now must pay dearly. Loses his brother in law for being too much of white knight? Forces him to teach and learn questionable practices leading to 8 and 9. Who knows... After 9, a very controversial way to link the next trilogy to the Skywalker films could be Luke falling to the dark side after 9. The Internet would explode that day and the wait for the next films would be painful, but man oh man go out with a bang. Leavem wanting and waiting for answers.

She is Darth Talon from the Legacy comics set 100 or so years after Return of the Jedi. Luke's descendant has a love-hate relationship with her.

I am Gwendoline, hear me roar.

Her in that getup would make me blast my pants. Don't really see Lupita as a scary character, no matter the makeup.

Devin at badassdigest seems more and more convinced that it's not Luke, and sounds like he heard something yesterday that reconfirmed it for him. Also really interesting to note that he thinks that the surprise of who the "Dark Knight" really is stems from the actor, not necessarily the character.

Fair enough. Let's narrow things down then:

Christian Bale (only one who fits with Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, but just in case here are the rest of our caped crusaders)

    Michael Keaton
    Ben Affleck
    Adam West
    Val Kilmer
    George Clooney

Personally, I'm hoping the DK reference is wider than just he who took up the cowl, enough so to include anyone and everyone who starred in the Nolan series of films.

I'd love to see Tom Hardy in the Star Wars universe.
