people that say "Star Wars is George Lucas" don't realize how collaborative the original trilogy was and how, even in ANH, George would have made some very prequel-esque miscues. If you read "How Star Wars Conquered the Universe" and see a little more into the process of how ANH was made,I doubt you'd still say "Star Wars is George Lucas"

Right on the money, you definitely don't have Star Wars without George, but you don't have Star Wars as we know it without tons of collaborators either. Marcia Lucas was actually instrumental in making sure the more emotional beats of the OT hit home, its to bad no one stepped into her shoes for the PT. I highly recommend "How Star Wars Conquered the Universe", it really helps point out just how collaborative Star Wars really was.

And the dead writer who died of cancer during ESB was instrumental for a lot of the main points of ESB .

Both posts further pointing to how absurd the assertion that George Lucas is Star Wars really is. If Star Wars were initially a book series like say, Lord of the Rings, and George Lucas was the author, then it would be fair to say that George Lucas is Star Wars. But in a media like film that has so many complex pieces and moving parts, its not fair to say that any one person is responsible for all the good things contained therein.

Well GL is his vision and it should be HIS at the end of the day but there is this psychological phenomena that I'm forgetting what it's called that when aa group of people use their minds on a single topic, it's outcome will be more beneficial in terms of the end-product .
