SPECULATION Episode VIII Wishlist

I should clarify my statement: I have nothing against superweapons, acutally I liked the concept of Starkiller Base. It was a natural evolution of the Death Star, but now the "bad guys" should learn from their mistakes.
=> Don't rely on superweapons! I would rather witness the fleet of the FO or Snoke's power as the new "superweapon".

 

oh i totally agree ~ i'd like to be surprised.
ground wars with new weapons, star destroyer battles. i dunno.
it'll be interesting what the FO and Snoke come up with no matter what, i think.
but then i'm probably pretty easy to please so long as it's thrilling and there are palpable stakes.

 

Here is my wish list to Santa Claus, or in this case, Rian Johnson:

1) a long in-depth conversation between Luke and Rey about who Rey is related/not related to and what Luke was searching for all these years.
2) a new prophecy involving Rey as the reincarnation as Anakin Skywalker (I actually love this theory because it continues the Skywalker legacy, it still makes Anakin the chosen one, and it is the best way to get Anakin into the plot without using Hayden C's face.)
3) No cliff-hanger ending. No carbonite, and "no.. Disintegration."
4) Minimal dialogue/scenes lifted from ESB or previous OT films.
5) more of the mythology and spirituality of the force in reference. Make Luke/Rey capable of using the Force in ways we never would have dreamed possible.
6) in-depth scenes of Luke training Rey in the ways of the Force.
7) Yoda appearance as a ghost.
8) Snoke explained
9) Brutal Sith-like Kylo Ren training.
10) Knights of Ren explained.
11) Better inclusion of John Williams soundtrack, so Rey's theme is played in pivotal moments for emotional weight. Another memorable new theme would be nice, too.
12) Please don't kill off Kelly Marie Tran.
13) Don't make Laura Dern a typical evil woman-in-power stereotype like Professor Umbridge in Harry Potter. (If she's going to be bad, at least make it more subtle like President Coin in Hunger Games.)
14) No love interest for Rey. Let's have a Star Wars heroine who is completely work-driven.
15) Hint at a Poe/Finn romance (or at the very least, a bro-mance.)

 

My Episode 8 Wishlist:
1. Rey revealed as Leia and Hans daughter (I don't believe Han knew about Rey and she was kept secret because of what happened with Ben)
2. Snokes identity revealed (as Plagueis)
3. Luke kicking some serious ass
4. Leia surviving the film
5. NO mention of Rey being the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker

 

1. Confirmation about who Rey is, or at the very least, how she knows how to use the Force. My biggest problem with TFA is that the lead character is such a mystery. I didn't know when to be surprised. Luke's parentage was a mystery in ANH, but at least we knew what his abilities were.

2. More familiar aliens. A lot of the TFA alien species were a bit... uninspired. They didn't seem distinctive, just orange/tan blobs. (see: Unkar Plutt, Maz Kanata). I want Rodians, Twi'leks, Ithorians, Togruta, Weequay, etc. They can't have all just disappeared.

3. A TIME JUMP. I know Rian said there is no time jump, but I'm sorry that's just ridiculous. There are always time jumps, why mess with the most basic elements of Star Wars? (To distract from uninspired/repetitive storytelling, perhaps? Hmmm)

4. More information about the political status quo. How much space does the Republic control, how much does the First Order control? Who is now in charge of the Republic?

5. Just tell us who Snoke is, already.

6. More interaction between the three leads. Poe and Rey haven't even exchanged any dialogue yet.

 

I want to see Luke kicking ass. And not just once, where we build the whole movie to his one big fight scene. Multiple scenes.

Well Obi Wan mentioned him in TROTJ as ceasing to be Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader I hope Luke tells Kylo's story to Rey.

 

both kenobi and Luke mention his full name in ROTJ, but i'm not sure if there are any others

 

No problem, I don't believe he will be soft on Rey & she wouldn't expect him to, Yoda wasn't on him as Obi wan wasn't on Ani.

2. Snoke to be revealed as either Plagueis or Palpatine
3. Finn and Rey romance
4. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda and maybe Qui-Gon to return as Force ghosts
5. Lando to make a cameo if not a full role
6. Benicio Del Toro to play Gallius Rax
7. Darth Vader to appear to Kylo Ren as a fake Force ghost set up by Snoke
8. Captain Phasma to return more badass than ever
9. A LOT more references to the prequels
10. Laura Dern to play a double agent

 

Heaven forbid!!

If Anakin's lightsaber didn't "talk" when Luke touched it in Star Wars, then it should never "speak". To anyone.
(this includes force visions, Sith inspired nightmares and Jedi dreams)

I hope some art/concepts from The Art Of Force Awakens was used....how did TFA end up so unoriginal and bland when they had such creative ideas??

2. More detail about force mythology.
3. Who are Rey's parents. (Luke and ????)
4. Finn's parents
5. Lando at Han's funeral.
6. Leia use the force. More obvious than in 7.
7. Smoke reveal.
8. Big lightsaber battle. Luke and Rey vs Kylo and Knights of Ren.
9. Luke be powerful. Blowing stuff up would be nice.
10. Yoda/Obi-Wan ghosts.
11. Smoke uses the force.
12. Rey's staff becomes a Lightsaber.
