Favourite Sequel Trilogy film?

I think I can sum up my own feelings on the ST with this:
TFA -
TLJ -
TROS -

 

I think If TLJ and ROS did not involve the fate of the OT characters that they would have been taken much better by fans.

Cameo appearances rather than the death of OT would have been more enjoyable.

 

I would have liked to see the characters live longer....but they at least, lived for thirty odd years past ROTJ. I would have preferred Han to have met his fate saving his son, rather than at his hands, but Ford and Driver made the scene heartrending, and Luke's swan song was fantastic.
Carrie's tragic real life passing robbed Leia of her own 'swan song', although I didn't really like what they did with her in TROS.

TBH, fans can be terribly toxic; it's impossible to please all of them.

 

Sadly, yes....

Hindsight is always 20/20; especially with Carrie's passing....
but I would have preferred Holocron Luke along with live action Chewie, R2 & Threepio & Lando.

Han, Leia, Luke, Ghost Yoda & Eternal-Palpatine were all underwhelming....
So, handling each of them offscreen would have been fine by me.

Also, only Han & Leia need mentioning because outside of the ultra-nerds, nobody would have missed the 2 undead wizards.

The exclusion of ghost Anakin jades THIS opinion.

That's why TFA will always be my number one ST film: it ended with Kylo Ren becoming a legit villain when Mary Sue Palpatine could not/ would not kill him. I still had hope for the SAGA when it was over. After the second flick with all the shirtless force-skyping & deep-fake-force-fighting and then Luke-quitting, I was just hanging on to see how the train wreck ended. One out of three is better than no out of three, so I'll never be in the "I hate the ST in it's entirety" club. What bums me out, is where things stand in the GFFA.... there is nothing for me to look forward to because my favorite family has been purged from the galaxy. I give zero bantha turds about the elite minded Jedi or the selfishly idiotic Sith, only the Skywalkers. Empire? New Republic? Meh. - It was the broken family that I loved most of all and watching the grand daughter of their enemy steal their name instead of building upon the family bloodline.... has left me feeling like once Mando ends, I really won't have much to hold my interest anymore. Kenobi was cool, I DO NOT WANT more. I think maybe Tano will be fun, but the ultra boring Andor has severely tempered my enthusiasm.


Perhaps the only thing that could get me going again would be the story of Mara Jade raising Luke's child: Kol.


So we can still get to Cade Skywalker (wearing my pants) vs Darth Krayt (wearing a Vong arm), but I digress....

 

Regarding Rey refusing to kill Kylo in TFA....actually, it was nothing to do with her and everything to do with an earthquake!

And although I share much of your feelings....Darth Shirtless is one of my favourite things about TLJ; if only we'd got a Captain Shirtless Han Solo in the OT (although we did get to see Padawan Shirtless Luke)!

 

I was shirtless, once.

 

We are all naked under our clothes...
