Favourite shot from the final trailer?

Can't say which one I prefer
I just love to see that Han and Leia still "love" or like eachother
and the other one.. I love Finn's face lol

 

My absolutely favorite is when Kylo swings at Finn.. I f*cking love that. The fact that he is fighting without helmet its awesome. Good to see that this isnt another "darth vader". also.. "I will finish what you have started" might be a line to Snoke right ?

 

Definitely when we see the tie fighter entering the atmosphere

 

All right, here's my quick breakdown before I need to get myself something to eat. Man I'm even forgetting to eat. Damn you hype.

I really like this one:


Generally, I am really pumped about all the dogfights that we see in the trailer. TIEs screaming and X-Wings, uh, engine-ing around is something that I'll always love to see.


I hope to the Force that we won't have an actual Trench Run 2.0 because that will just be too much. A planetoid weapon is more than enough rehashing for my taste.
A great detail in the following shot is that BB-8's antenna is bent in the pressure of the wind:


The following shot...I'm divided on. It looks good, but it also looks so similar to a shot in Return of the Jedi outside the Imperial bunker on Endor that it almost feels derivative.


This might be my favorite shot. It oozes coolness and threat. Phasma does seem to be the new trilogy's Boba Fett in a sense.

Just love the emotion on display! Was there ever this much emotion in the prequel trilogy? I DON'T THINK SO. There was a moment on Mustafar toward the end of Episode III perhaps. And who is she crying over? It looks like Chewbacca, but seeing the sorrow on Rey's face makes me think it has to be someone like Han. Or maybe Luke (he can come back as a Force ghost if necessary - although I think the "Force ghost" concept is the weakest link of the original trilogy).

The following shot also stands out. It stands out as really different from the rest of the trailer, and I like it.

The weird (guard?) droid, the design of which I think I spied in the Comic Con reel, the banners which include the Mandalorian symbol...it's an entrance with a difference. Approved.

The landing of Kylo Ren next to the Stormtroopers looks good too. Man the more I watch these shots the more I like what I see.


I am a bit miffed we're not getting the leaked concept art TIE shuttle, you know, the art with the Royal Guards standing attendance. That was an awesome concept design that I think is better than what we get here. Maybe the concept is for Hux's personal shuttle. I just hope it is in:


I also really like the meeting between Poe and Finn, and the way the camera follows Poe first, then settles on Finn. In general I like the fluid camera work I'm seeing, far more than the static-feeling PT movies.


Also, I am still convinced Poe doesn't like Finn much.

Another great shot of dogfighting. Love it.


I'm almost afraid to say I love this stuff, but I do. Afraid, because I was so horribly burned by the prequel trilogy. Worse than Vader. In fact I'm in a life support suit because of it.


As I half expected, the Knights of Ren shot is quite popular. I'm not digging it, for the following reasons: The rain and the coloration makes it look very similar to a certain movie called The Two Towers. It looks as if these guys showed up late for the attack on Helm's Deep. That's a minor nitpick, of course, but like Star Wars, the movies based on Tolkien's work is fairly well ingrained in my brain cells so I can't help but make the comparison. Also, it looks like some of these knights are wielding actual steel swords, which I find very strange. I could be wrong of course and they are holding other kinds of weapons. Finally, the Ren in the back looks like he's carrying a boom blaster. Can't wait to hear Kylo's sword hiss in the rain, though (it bettter!)



I have to say, Harrison Ford is looking mighty fine in this trailer. And as I said elsewhere, I am very happy with the decision to have, ironically, Han Solo convince Rey and Finn that the Jedi are real.


And this is my favorite shot of Kylo Ren so far. Here he does actually look menacing. I like how the camera is up close to amplify the threat. I hear rumors of an interrogation droid ála A New Hope. It doesn't look like it's necessary. Also, the less direct links to A New Hope the better in a movie that sounds more like a reboot than a continuation (although the visuals look like a continuation).


I'm glad to see that the stormtroopers look more convincing in this scene.


I like this shot a long time. She's got a great face, she looks like she's always belonged in Star Wars. Born for it, even. But so was I and I'm still not in a Star Wars movie


What to say, what to say. It's a great composition, but I have a feeling we're seeing a super weapon being used, and unlike practical effects, I'm not okay with super weapons. What can I say, I'm a pacifist and a little too round for a Stormtrooper.


I like it; and it still looks like Tatooine.


The CGI is obvious, but I like how we get a "new" or fresh look at something - a partially destroyed TIE fighter plummeting toward a planetary surface.


Rey the Tomb Raider: I like it a lot, again because it's something we haven't yet seen in a Star Wars version. I mean, Star Wars has always taken classic character concepts and galaxy far away-ified them; we've had bounty hunters, duelists, wizards, knights, etc. etc. and now we have scavenger/tomb raider.


Awesome first shot of the trailer! It's just...great. I like the design.


This too is beautifully made. I expect 90% of the image to be a matte painting, but it looks great. I love the attention to detail, in particular the light filtering in through tears in the hull. As a setting, it's new - we haven't really had "ruined starship-dungeon" before.

Right, in making this post I have become even more excited and realized I appreciate what I see more than I expected to.
These last 57 days (we're getting it on December 16th) will be ... difficult.

And all this time I will be turning the question over in my mind: It looks great, but will the story be good enough?
And also,

I believe JJ Abrams has been misquoted.
He didn't say "The important question is 'Who is Luke Skywalker?'

Mine is the knights of Ren...

 

YES!! I've been saying this FOREVER, was starting to think I was nuts. I get a Miyazaki vibe from so much of this film, From Rey in the hollowed out Starship, to the temple with the flags, to Captain Phasma. My favourite shot in the trailer is that temple with the flags, reminds me so much of Castle in the Sky.

 

Han and Leia hugging made me feel warm inside, but this scene is a close second:

 

I notice Chewbacca's arm is bandaged here, is this the injury that many have been speculating on?

 

Look at how Adam Driver carries himself, He is invested in the character, he has a mannerism to something as simple as a light sabre swing.

 

Too much epicness in that trailer. The whole thing is awesome. The more you see it, the more you like it.

 

There is nothing simple by swinging a sword, but yes, Driver is a great physical actor.

 

ICONIC, REMINDS ME OF STAR WARS

 

Han and Leia Embracing. Me and my wife tried to pause it on the youtube video for about five minutes we were so excited! Follow ups would be Poe dameron patting Finn on the back and the explosion behind Rey and Finn.

 

I love the dog fights especially the one heading down towards the ground where the x wing smokes that tie fighter!

 

The scene with Kylo on the deck of the Starkiller Base, talking to the helmet. Just chills. "I will finish what you started."

 

Finn is like: "What the...!!?? Awww! Hell no!! I ain't payed enough for this sh!t!"

 

So much to love about it. Personal favorites include:

- Tie Fighter spinning out of control - Kylo Ren watching the super weapon fire - Poe being interrogated by Kylo - The planet being destroyed - The Han/Rey 'story' convo - The Falcon going in to hyper space - KNIGHTS OF MOTHERFUCKIN REN - Rey crying over what l am guessing is Han - Maz Kanata's voice over - Han/Leia embrace - and lastly the mighty Adam Driver mask less approaching a blast scared Finn.

GrrARGHHHH there are too many!!!!!!!
