Next episode leaked and I peeked.

Nothing too in depth but it saves the season for me.

I have a busy weekend planned and no restraint planned so it was likely going to be viewed late or early...I chose early.

    That was incredible.

Being a shorter episode, I expected some fireworks at some point... but not THAT.

Next week can't come soon enough. Damn cliffhangers!!!

If you watch slow enough, it's not a cliffhanger!

    1. Cersei
    2. The Mountain
    3. The Red Woman
    4. Beric
    5. Thoros
    6. Illyn Payne
    7. The Hound

And I think you can add Littlefinger to the list when Bran gets done with his visions.

    Wow, that was great!

I really hope Jaime's armor isn't too heavy though...

Other than the obvious, other great parts included Arya's "training", Bran's cheeky "You can't lie to me" reference, and the neat cave paintings.

I was sad to realize we only have three episodes left, though... I'd been under the impression that this season had 8 and the next had 7, not the other way around. :(

I'm really curious to see if The Hound, Thoros, and Beric all remain on her list after she inevitably sees them in action again. I'd like another "reciting of the list" by Arya to see what has changed...

Oh yeah, he's totally going on that list. Arya's presence, coupled with Bran's, makes me think that Littlefinger is going to wise up and realize that Winterfell probably isn't the best place for him anymore.

Also, I can't figure out just how much Bran knows. But, from what he's mentioned, I'm leaning more towards the "everything" side. So it's going to be really interesting to see what he decides to tell and to whom.... at least he is collected enough to not just go spouting off his secrets to everyone right off the bat.

I think Bran knows "enough" more-so than everything.
IMO if he knew "everything" he probably already would have whispered in Arya's ear...

I totally think he was toying with Baelish this episode.

Their conversation basically boiled down to this:

Bran: Do you know who this dagger belonged to?

Littlefinger: You know, how about I go on some long-winded tangent so we forget about that question. Sound good, kiddo?

Bran: Chaos is a ladder... See, I've seen this, and much more... you know, so I was really just curious if you'd tell me who the dagger belongs to, I totally already know. Good to know I can count on you being a liar.

Littlefinger: *awkwardly backs out of the room*

Speaking of the dagger.... was it not the same one that was in the book that Sam was looking at, when he was trying to find out about dragon glass? It must have been Ep. 1 of this season. I need to go back and re-watch that.

Seems that dagger is going to be mighty important for several reasons!

Ohh boy, those last 15 mins! I honestly wasn't sure who to root for. When Bronn was aiming down Drogon I was so sure 1 of them was going to die in that scene,
    Such a tense moment.
It feel like he is just waiting for the best time to do it because he's already feeling disconnected from humanity as it is. It's easier for him to tell Arya later than just tell her now and expect her to actually wait on that info.

Giving Arya that dagger feels like such a big red CHEKHOV'S GUN moment.

All right, I hope you guys aren't too anti-crackpot theories here, because I have one that I haven't heard before (though I'm sure someone else has come up with it).

Seriously, I doubt there's anything to this, but it's fun to speculate.

What if the Valyrian dagger is Lightbringer? Such a small, though certainly important, weapon would definitely be something that people wouldn't expect.

Furthermore (and perhaps even more unlikely) is the possibility that the Valyrian dagger might reveal Azor Ahai.
Let's look at some of his assassinations:

    1) Helped Lysa Arryn (originally Lyssa Tully of the Riverlands) kill Jon. Lightbringer was first tempered in water. Lyssa was eventually later killed by Littlefinger himself.

    2) Helped Olenna Tyrell kill Joffrey (of Lannister descent). Lightbringer was then tempered in a lion. Olenna eventually died for leaving the crown. Also, Sansa Stark was the one who unwittingly smuggled the poison into the feast.

Now, before I get to this third point, consider this: When Azor Ahai finally was able to successfully construct his sword, it was only through plunging it into his wife. Look at these two assassinations so far- both involving women who helped Littlefinger. Both involving women who have either literally died afterward (Lyssa, Olenna) or were figuratively killed (Sansa to Alayne- or, if you're just a show fan, Sansa changing her look and disguising herself, at least).

    3) Now Arya has the Valyrian dagger. Remember how Azor Ahai's wife had to be killed? Her name was Nissa Nissa. Pretty weird name, for sure. It's also just two letters away (forgivable, since it allows for the name to be repetitive) from being an anagram for the word Assassin. As in, Arya "No One" herself. In this case, I think it is Petyr who will feel Lightbringer's steel- at least, I hope so, I would be pretty mad if he killed Arya.

    *removes tinfoil hat*

    DRACARYS!!

OMG seriously what an episode! I didn't expect it was going to come out like that...

    1) Loved Arya and Phasma, I mean, Brienne sparring and finding out they can be great friends. Brienne was looking at her like wishing she could adopt her. (BTW can we bring Maisie Williams to a GFFA? She could do a really cool bounty hunter.)

    2) I have the feeling Littlefinger days are numbered. And Arya will be the one who kill him.

    3) I know it's weird BUT I do hope these two do more than just stare at each other. I mean, it's Westeros, they're Targaryen so NBD there.

    A Chekhov's dagger, I'd say.

They are being much less subtle on the show than the books.

Haha, yes they are... seems they've said "enough with the clever plans" ;)

But the beauty of it all was that while neither character knows/realized the implication of that line, it sure made me jump out of my seat and yell at the TV.

True, to big fans (who I assume much of the viewers are now) the show isn't all that subtle anymore. I guess it comes with the territory of the "wrapping things up" phase its in now.

But for more casual fans, these things flew right under their noses. No one other than me at our viewing party on Sunday knew what the note Arya found was. Few caught the "annulment" line. And there were even some who didn't remember who Gendry was. That's all people who have watched the season from the beginning!

I think the show has such devoted followers now, they have to run a middle line- if they continue trying to cater to the diehard fans crowd who craves subtlety, they risk alienating the rest.

But I do agree- as satisfying and quickly paced as this season has been, it seems too fast, and a little dumbed down as well. Like, it took Gendry several seasons to go from Dragonstone to King's Landing (at least, from an audience perspective) but he bounces around from Fleabottom, to Dragonstone, to beyond the wall in the span of less than half an episode.
