Game of Thrones, anyone?

I've been watching the show since episode 1 aired back in 2011 (wow, time flies). Even though I'd call myself a casual Game of Thrones fan, I really do love the series. Haven't read the books.

Season 7 is great so far. I enjoy this fast pace, but during the last episode even I was like "OK, that's ridiculous". But that's fine, I prefer shortcuts than filler scenes if we're heading towards something truly worthwile. It sucks there are only 2 episodes to go, but well... At least the season is very satisfying.

The biggest standout so far is definitely the last 15 minutes of episode 4. I mean, the way they managed to capture the horror and helplessness of the Lannister army was brilliant. Technically I have no business rooting for Jaime since he represents the most villainous side of the conflict, but they've made him likable throughout the seasons, so in this sequence I was totally identifying with his side. I thought they're 100% dead when the battle started, which made for an intense watching experience.

As for episode 5, lots of convenience going on there, but still a good one. Tyrion in King's Landing stressed me out, because I thought they're setting up his capture/death - didn't suspect it was just a massive plot shortcut. Gendry's return was very sudden. I thought they needed him to forge dragonglass weapons, but it looks like there's a different purpose for him.

Gotta say that the plan to capture a white walker sounds a bit unreasonable to me... Is this really the only way to convince everyone they exist? How can the characters even think it's doable? To me it looks like they just want to set up some crazy adventure for these guys and play with our emotions by killing a couple of them, but I hope there's WAY more to it than that.

 

The Expendables anyone? That's what I conclude!

 

Haha, I've heard them compared to these guys. Hopefully, you know, it's better though.

 

I'm definitely not expecting all of this crew to return - breathing anyway!

I'm thinking only two of them have faced the undead or white walkers so Jon Snow had better have told them about Valerian steel and dragon glass otherwise this group is seriously undergunned. (I assumed that was what Gendry was brought on board for but I guess we'll find out soon enough.)

I can't help but wonder if Jon's going to encounter undead Hodor at some stage...

just read it on /r/freefolk (GoT spoiler site) E06 has leaked after HBO accidentally screened it early in spain and confirms the spoilers for the next two episodes. For those that are extremely spoiler-phobic, i'd suggest going on a social media blackout.

From what i've read this week, a spanish guy has been holding livestreams that leaked all the details for the last two episodes. The HBO stuff up confirms he's 100% right.

It's looking like actual full scripts were leaked awhile back and it's all proven to be correct.

 

The script leaks were confirmed very early on.

 

oh ok, when I was reading /r/freefolk they were claiming that E06 and E07 leaks should be considered with scepticism until more info came out.

Well, this sucks... Lots of bad luck surrounding this season. It's quite ironic that the leaked episodes are not coming from hackers.

 

I think it's intentional to get out in front of the hackers. Can't leak what's already leaked.

Yep. I've been very disappointed by that, so here's hoping the episode plays better than it reads.

 

So they should have at least leak crisp 1080p.

Avoiding spoilers is going to be difficult especially on YouTube, which can just throw "X death scene" at you in recommendations...

Man, I haven't read any of the leaks yet, but it's so tempting.

As excited as I am to see Gendry smash faces with his hammer this weekend (dude needs to pick up a Valyrian war hammer, by the way) I'm worried about some of these characters- especially Tormund.

 

I'm not saying I am watching the episode currently but I'm also not saying I'm not watching it.

So, this is a great episode where tension is real and every action from here out will have immediate consequences.
1. Beyond the wall is great. Tormond and the Hound together is a match made in heaven. Their banter is great. They both pick on Gendry. There's a great moment where Jon calls Gendry the fastest...and we all know it's from all that damn rowing. Everything beyond the wall is spectacular. From the battles to the dragon rescue. Beric is a boss.

2. In Winterfell, Sansa and Arya are both dumb again because they need Littlefinger to do something other than hide and take personal time with visions of Sansa I guess. Dumb storyline and it should be abandoned quickly.

3. RIP Thoros of Myr, you weren't brave but you were incredibly drunk and I empathize with that. Long live Thoros. RIP one of the dragons. You are evil now. Which sucks.

4. Dany wants Jon bad but won't let herself. She now knows he wasn't being metaphorical about the stabbing in the heart. This will play a big role, one would assume.

 

Either watch the leak or wait. My words will not do this episode justice.

 

Oh if these episodes leaked at the beginning, I'd watch them all at once lol.

It's so funny even after the hacking issue, the only leaks have been from international HBO stations lol

 

Just watched episode six, what an episode!!! All I'm gonna say, I hope they burn Littlefinger alive...
