Game of Thrones Series Creators to Write and Produce New Series of Star Wars Films

So there are stand alones that are separate from the Skywalkers.

A TV show separate from the skywalkers.

An RJ trilogy separate from the skywalkers.

And now a series of films separate from the skywalkers.


Makes you wonder why they were so focused on moving the Sequel Trilogy away from the skywalkers....??

 

But one Christmas a year is normal practice. Star Wars was a once every 3 years thing. Now its every year. That's what I implied.

 

This is horrible. These two are some of the worst storytellers ever, they have managed to ruin one of the greatest fantasy series' of all time. Almost every single change they made to the Song of Ice and Fire was horrid and the stuff they did that was completely original (without input from GRRM) is universally regarded as the worst stuff in the show. I want to be optimistic but I am very afraid of Star Wars in these two's hands.

 

I understand that part of it and if that's your opinion more power to you. But I'm seeing a lot of people act surprised that this is happening, like it's unexpected that we're getting more Star Wars. That's the part I don't necessarily get.

 

Because it seems the more regular and worse these films have become, and with all the hype, promotion and secrecy, people (like me) are getting sick to the back teeth of more disappointing films that are nowhere near as good as the earlier films were.

Overexposure and continued letdowns of badly executed films are literally killing enthusiasm (for some) of Star Wars. Which is terribly sad.

More does not equate as better. Super-sizing Star Wars like a beverage is diluting it.

 

As a huge lifelong Star Wars fan, this news actually disappointed me. I am now certain I will get Star Wars fatigue at some point, and I also feel like it will never be as special to my children because it will just be there like clockwork every year.

 

I think it's gonna be a series or mini-series on the streaming site when all is said and done.

Well, from my personal point of view, this is awesome. As a huge Star Wars and Game of Thrones fan, I'm really looking forward for this to happen.

This is great news that these guys are on board.

 

Ever since they outran the books GOT has turns into terrible high budget fan fiction writing. The last season was really bad.

 

This really increases my wish-fulfillment of getting Rory McCann and Sean Bean in Star Wars

That's not really their fault. GRRM has a way for the show to end (he gave them the notes).
He's also written himself into a corner where the story HAS to end but now he has to figure out how to end the damn thing and I think he's stuck and so unsure of what to write for fan backlash and other reasons, he is just stalling.

It's incredibly difficult to pick up another creators story and try to finish it just off of notes, especially one as intricate as ASOIAF.
Spielberg, one of the greatest story tellers of our time, couldn't quite do justice to Kubrick's last work.

That's said the last 2 seasons are a bit down from some of the previous but that's only by GoT standards. Still better than most shows.

 

It is definitely there fault for writing half baked stories. But hey this guy wrote X Men Origins Wolverine too.
