I think that is certainly what's implied. But we'll see... I think we might get to know a bit more in our first Season 3 trailer.

Season 3 Rex and possibly a lightsaber blade behind him. Is it Ezra's new blade? Something else?

You guys ever think that if Rebels was on Cartoon Network like TCW and had the financial funding for the animations it would of been alil better and darker? Its Disney so there was barely any showing of killing and budgeted on anime. I feel like they would of had more incorporated. Rebels is good dont get me wrong I just remember when Filoni and them said they would make certain things from limited funding. Hopefully season 3 has alot more into the production and add the likes of Rogue 1 cast into a storyline tying them into the movie coming out.

I doubt any of the new major characters in Rogue One will appear in Rebels before the movie comes out, if at all. They would want to do the introductions in the film, and they're big on the other media bits not being requird viewing or reading for the films. So in other words, the cross media stuff can only enhance viewing experiences by giving minor background and contextual material, not add any important plot details or anything that would be crucial to the story. Seems to be the way they enable more creative freedom without too many continuity issues creeping in.

I actually like the animation on Rebels better than TCW, as it seems more artistic and vibrant. I think the light saber battles in Rebels are done particularly well. Though I did start watching Rebels before TCW, so it could just be a case of what you see first and know, you prefer.

I like the new avatar, btw.

Rebels season 3 isnt til like October/November. R1 isnt til December. So introducing them in the second half of Season 3 would make sense. I just feel that with Rebels finding a base for the republic they would have to intermix with one another I think. Its like giving them hope that there is a Jedi present (Kanan) to help them. It doesnt fall into SW Film saga but falls into the timeline. I know how they like to keep the actual Episodes as its own entirety and that TCW/Rebels and the anthologies fall into that without adding much interuption in to them. Like an adaptation, being that TCW/Rebels/anthologies/Books are traits with a current functional role in the life of the SW Episodes Saga. I watch Rebels first as well but when I watched TCW I liked it better and it showed more into the story. Yes it was based between Ep.2 & 3 but even when they said that had a budget I figured that Rebels would have have more money being Disney.

Im not too trilled on R1 myself. Its going to be the first SW thing that doesnt involved a lightsaber in the fact of Jedi/Sith. Darth Vader is the most powerful person in the film if any and I dont think he will fight in the movie. At least with Rebels/TCW you still have it intact. Like to see Kanan in R1 if that was ever a shot but I know it wont happen. I will still watch it tho dont get me wrong.

That's actually one of the biggest selling points for Rogue One in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love lightsabers as much as the next fan, but with these anthologies LucasFilm has the chance to really do something different with the Star Wars universe. The galaxy is a huge place and the wars affect a lot more people than just the Jedi, it will be exciting to see the Galactic Civil War from the perspective of the grunts on the front line.

As for Darth Vader and his lightsaber though, I have no doubt that we will get to see both in this film. The fact that we will be seeing those things from the perspective of the regular people in the Star Wars universe will only serve to make them more terrifying. Mark my words, Darth Vader will be scarier and more god-like in this film than he has been in any of his previous film appearances. We'll get to see just how outmatched the regular Rebels are when dealing with a Dark Lord of the Sith. I'm incredibly excited for that!

It's obvious he needs a new one after TOTA.

Obviously. Since his last one was destroyed but don't know if that is it in the background. What's TOTA?

Sorry man TOTA (Twilight of the Apprentice), you think they are visiting a imperial tie fighter factory using laser tech or the ghost firing it's turrets.

Hard to say with the little detail of the pic. I know I'm ready for season 3 to start and hopefully it won't be the final one.

You can kind of see a snippet of what looks to be suspiciously like Ezra coloured clothing just between Rex's helmet and shoulder. My money is on Ezra getting a green lightsaber upgrade.

That's what I've been thinking too. The green light looks to be fuller than a blaster bolt.

Does he even need an upgrade, I thought his lightsaber was all good? Besides, his colours are more green, so I doubt that's him behind Rex. The positioning does look like it's a green lightsaber being held by a browny yellow clothed person.

Would this mean Ezra finds a new kyber crystal, or if he used the one out of his last light saber, can it change colour in the new one? Could someone please enlighten me?

If I remember right, the color comes from the crystal itself.

That's what I thought. So I wonder where the new crystal and/or light saber comes from? Maybe we have some more Temple or Yoda stuff in S3? I hope they ask him what the karabast he was thinking, sending them to that denizen of darkness. Though I guess they did get some Inqisitors out the way, plus disable that death weapon and stop the Sith holocron falling into more nefarious hands. Except I can't help but feel Maul will end up being bigger trouble than all the Inquisitors put together.

I think Yoda sent them there to gain knowledge on how to defeat the Inquisitors but not knowing everyone would be there at once. He definitely didn't know Maul would be there.

And YES I see Maul in a bigger role next season.
