I don't buy it for a second. Freddy has said before in interviews it will go more like 5-7 seasons. I also would hate to see thrawn come to rebels. There isn't a rebel alliance and the rebels can't have a "major" victory until right before ANH.

What will thrawn do? Just bumble about not capturing the ghost crew?

I'd much rather see Mara Jade come in as a 17 year old inquisitor and foil to Ezra. She can be an inquisitor prodigy.

If they have enough material for it to last 5-7 years then they're going to have to slow the show down quite a bit unless they are planning to overlap into the OT. At this point in time Rebels is what, 2.5 years from ANH?

I think that is the plan. I could see the show ending with the assault on the second death star. There was a rebels recon where pablo says that Hera's group of rebels has the b-wing, but dodonna's doesn't. That is his explanation for why the b-wing isn't seen until ROTJ in the films.

 

Ezra was born on the day the Empire was established. The fifteenth celebration of Empire Day occurs in Season 1. I don't think we've jumped 2.5 years between Seasons 1 and 2. We might be coming up on four years before ANH, but I don't see how we skipped 2.5 years, especially since Season 2 felt like it started very soon after Season 1.

 

Did Pablo really say that? I wonder if Hera fought in the space battle of Endor.

 

I'm stuck at work and can't look up the vid, but its the rebels recon for the episode about the b-wing.

 

I'm looking for the video or article where I saw this. I do remember either Pablo or someone associated with the show saying that 1.5 yrs has gone by from season 1 through season 2. This would make Ezra over 16 so 2.5 from ANH is not a stretch. I'll try and find the video to make sure.

Edit: I found this link for the episode Princess on Lothal where it states that it takes place approximately 3 yrs before ANH. I'm sure a few weeks at least or months have gone by since. We can put the timeline at roughly 2.5 yrs before ANH.

Mara Jade isn't Canon anymore.

 

Everyone here knows that my friend. The fact that she isn't canon doesn't mean she can't be canon again though, albeit, with some definite changes to how her story plays out. Keep in mind that Freddie Prinze Jr said that a lot of Legends characters would live again on Rebels. The major reveal that fans are expecting at SW Celebration this year is that Thrawn will be in season three of Rebels. After Thrawn, other than possibly Revan, Mara Jade is easily the next most popular Legends character, so it's not inconceivable that she will be reintroduced at some point down the line. If she is reintroduced though, it's highly unlikely that she will end up married to Luke in the new canon.

 

That's a very fair point. But personally, I can't see Mara Jade coming to Rebels. She wouldn't end up marrying Luke or having anything to do with Luke... so I don't really see the point. It's not really feasible and I don't think it would add any depth to Rebels.

Like you said; I could definitely see a Thrawn appearance happening!

 

When ezra says "but since when are you my enemy" does it feel like an fore shadow of what will come to them both. Kinda feels like Obi wan and Anakin. I pulled into Singapore so now im catching up on my Rebels...
