    Without any reason, because we know they succeed in stealing the plans, I have always seen it as a suicide mission.
    Hadn't really thought much about it until you mentioned it...

    I guess that if it is really a success we could see them on adventures while looking for Hoth? Maybe some crossover with Rebels?
    I really like that idea of following them post Jedi, but I think people would complain about no Luke, Leia or Han...

    I have no clue on what's canon and what's not according to Wookieepedia.
    But since Rakata Prime got its canon status via that galactic map at least its sole existence is canonized.
    If it still shares any properties with how it was depicted in SWTOR remains to be seen. On the other hand, why shouldn't it once canonized.

    The name isn't, but the planet is. That is to say, the exact same planet exists in the canon under a different name. Just like the whole Korriban/Moraband fiasco from a while back.

    A better approach would be to canonize that planet and start filling in the canon with new material. TOR and KOTOR is ALL over the place story line wise. If it's canonized as is we'll never get films depicting the official story of the Jedi/Republic from that era. Something to think about. I don't want to see a copy and paste of the old eu into the new canon. That's a bit sloppy and short sighted.

    due to the recent press conference that both R1 & episode 8 will be filming in Mexico do you think it`s possible on of the planets used in R1 may turn up in episode 8

    At this time next week, the anticipation for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will finally be over. After the verdict for that movie is settled and/or debated to death, it will be time to hype up the next Star Wars movie for a year without end. Of course, Rogue One and the other future Star Wars standalone movies are even more of a mystery, yet producer Kathleen Kennedy gave new hints about how these episodes will be made.
